"Hey! Silent Beanie wait up!"

The unmistakable voice stopped her from her fast walking. It was only the first week of school and she already know for a fact that she would never forget that loud impressionable voice. And surprisingly enough, she has grown to like it.

She hasn't told Dinah her name, no she never did. But the girl got lucky and found out her full name during their English class that they happen to share when the teacher called everyone to check the attendance and confirm the official list of students. Dinah triumphantly smirked at her at the time as if she was internally celebrating the knowledge of her actual name.

The days flew by and she just realized she just survived one week of school without people throwing bucketful of ice cold beverage over her head. And sometime during the week, Dinah came up with a nickname for her despite already knowing what her real name was.

She wasn't sure if she should be offended by it or flattered.

Eventually, she chose to be flattered though if she's being honest, she doesn't like it. It sounds ridiculous because a beanie is an inanimate object therefore it already is incapable of talking. Add silent to it and it's just stupid. She took the nickname as flattery mostly because of her gratitude for the fact that someone bothered to stick around her without throwing some kind of liquid on her face or made fun of her bunny teeth.

In fact, despite her inability to speak up, Dinah seemed to get her. She treated her like she would any other person. To Dinah, she is an equal worthy of respect and the simple courtesy of being given a decent company. It was very new to her.

So new that she still can't seem to grasp the whole idea and be able to handle it like a normal person should. She wouldn't go as far as saying that they're friends just yet, because she never had any friends and it's only the first week of school. But she is not opposed either to the idea that maybe Dinah and her are indeed already friends. What she knew about friendship only came from the books she read, so she is not sure how this friendship thing works in real life.

"Okay so... Remember Camila?"

How could she not?

The girl was like the epitome of great example for her. Unlike her, the girl was outspoken and brave and hands-down beautiful. She has the confidence she always lack and the perfect smile that could light up even the darkest room.

And very much unlike her, Camila was the social butterfly who earned herself at least half of the ninth grade population as her friends and the respect upperclassmen rarely give to someone way below their grade level.

She stared at Dinah expectantly. She didn't have to give verbal encouragement for her to continue talking. The taller girl is so fond of talking, she learned that fact in the past few days of staying around her. And being such a charming talker, it was no surprise either that Dinah and Camila got along so well they've become best buddies in less than a day.

"She made it to the girl's soccer team and we were talking about it yesterday and she mentioned the team still needs new players since the rest of the members were seniors and about to graduate and doesn't have enough team members to play officially..." Dinah rambled on as they made their way to the cafeteria, "She asked if maybe we can try out. I told her I will but I'm not sure about you, so... Would you like to try out later with me after classes?"
