Green ooze began dripping from the dead root. With a flick of his wrist, Chastifol flew away, beginning to attack the other abominations. Diane peeked from the doorway, stepping out, but withdrawing her leg when Harlequin reappeared in her way. He was covered in the goop mentioned before, and his clothes were absolutely disgusting, the green liquid staining his clothes, slowly, but surely.
Diane gasped in horror, and immediately began to unbutton his jacket, pulling it off. Harlequin's face turned red and he spoke with a stutter. "D-Diane! What are you doing?!" The giantess sighed angrily, shaking her head as she walked to the laundry room. "I refuse to let my husband fight in these clothes. They are absolutely repulsive!" He was blushing still, even after his wife explained herself, mainly because he had embarrassed himself by asking what she was doing. She obviously is going for his clothes, what was wrong with him?!"O-Okay t-then."
With a sigh, Diane walked back to the door, looking back at Harlequin. "Do you have any clue who did this?" Harlequin shook his head, but the shake slowly turned into a nod. "I think I saw someone on the wall running away." Diane crossed her arms over her chest, frowning. "Then go look for him!" It took a moment for her words to process in his brain, but when they did, Harlequin was flying out of the door, analyzing the city from above, while Chastifol flew around below, scanning the streets for a hiding place. His senses were alerted and he was drawn to an alley way, where the person sat pressed against the wall, cornered by Chastifol.
The person had a strong flowery scent, and a black cloak with a hood. Harlequin advanced forward once he landed, ripping the hood off of the males head. What he saw surprised him. It was a fairy, badly scarred and beat up. "Who are you?" Harlequin demanded, clenching his fingers into fists, which prompted Chastifol closer to the fairy's throat. The stranger smiled, wiping at dried blood that had been running from his nose. "They said this would happen. They send their regards." The unknown fairy said, pulling a small vial of bubbling purple liquid from his cloak. With a swift hand, he had it uncorked and was drinking it before Harlequin could stop him.
In an instant, the fairy was dead, frothing at the mouth. Diane padded up behind Harlequin, and placed a hand on his shoulder. "I couldn't stop him..." He said shakily, pivoting to hug Diane. The female gently pet him, stroking his chestnut hair. "Oh, baby... it's not your fault." She said softly, whispering onto his hair. It was of no use though, he still felt like he had failed. With a shakey breath, the fairy king looked up at Diane's soft face. "I only got a few words out of him. He said 'They said this would happen. They send their regards.' Any clue what it means?" He asked, taking a deep breath to try and calm himself down. "Maybe he was talking about the fairies?" Diane asked, to which Harlequin responded with a shake of his small child-like head. "Fairies don't attack without command by the fairy king. Me. And why would they want to attack the humans, other than the events of the Holy War, which we stopped like... ten years ago."
Diane shook her head, taking a deep breath then releasing it. Harlequin couldn't help but worry about the life growing inside her belly. "Is the baby okay? Did you get hurt?" Diane smiled at his concern, shaking her head, her long brown hair swaying slightly. "I felt them kick, thank the gods." Harlequin's eyes widened slightly. He put his hands on her abdomen, trying to feel for any movement, smiling when he felt one of the tiniest punches he'd ever felt. "What do we do about this one?" Diane asked, gesturing to the now deceased fairy male. Harlequin narrowed his eyes, angling his head upwards, ascending to kiss the Giantess on the cheek. "We find out what the hell is going on." Harlequin whispered, making Diane smile and kiss him back, the baby in her belly wiggling and kicking slightly.
Notes: Holy shit, this was stupid short, I'm so sorry. Definitely a step down in quality from the first chapter... by more than three hundred words. I'll try to have a more consistent update schedule. Anyway, if you like it, please show with a quick like or comment, and oofies, I'm sorryyyyyyyy for the crappy quality.
