I back away towards the cliff edge in fright.I watch as the shadowy figure comes closer to me as I watch with big eyes.My foot slips and I tumble off the edge.I catch a branch with my hand and latch onto it.The figure looks down at me with a evil grin."Need some help,Miya?Here I will help you." He says.The branch breaks right when he touches it.I look up to see the figure crumple and a girl with a flaming sword standing in his place.I then realize that Im still plummeting towards the rocks by the shore.I squeeze my eyes shut waiting for me to slam against the rocks but it never comes,and I open my eyes to see a 24 year old guy looking at me with soft eyes.I can see my blue-green eyes in his light brown ones.My long tawny gold hair falls down into my face."Who are you?" I say.He looks at me with much interest."Im Karoshi."He says.I then hear someone else's voice."Karoshi,are you going to put her down?Or are you going to stand here and not return to the Kannagi household with Ayano and me?" He puts me down and I peer around his shoulder at a girl with the same sword who is standing next to a man who seems about 25. "Guys,come on,I only distracted him for you."The girl says.The man looks at her with a sly grin on his face."Hm,so you can't touch him,Ayano?So disappointing."He says.Her temper flares and her sword comes up."KAZUMA!" Kazuma raises his hand up and catches her hand.Ayano pulls her hand free just as I sense something.My eyes narrow and I draw my sword.I set the sword tip into the sand.The gold inscriptions along the blade start to glow and different color lines spiral out of the tip.The lines go into the shape of a crescent moon.I lift the sword back up,sheath it,and turn around.I do a handstand and spring off my hands.My foot slams into the figure.I relaunch my self off of him.I twist in mid air and a dark blade slips past me.I draw my sword as I land.I run straight at the figure and expertly slice at him.He growls in frustration as I dodge his attacks effortlessly and tirelessly.As I take a swing at him he knocks me down hard.I then bluff out a knockout as the guy moves closer.I hear Ayano yell and then at the last second my arm flashes up and the sword pierces the guys heart.The guy staggers a step as I rise and I pull out my sword out of him.He collapses after a second or two and I chuckle."Thought I was knocked out huh? Think again." Ayano comes from behind me and wraps her arms around my neck."You did great!Nice bluff by the way." I smile. "Thanks,Ayano." I hear Kazuma and Karoshi laughing."Did you see the look on that guy's face?" I look at them calmly.With a smirk I start walking down the beach.I study my sword when it dissappers.I hear the shouts of the guys from behind me as I keep walking.Ayano appears next to me.Me and her yelp and the guys catch us and pull us into the air.I look at Karoshi silently and then return my attention to a household.
