This is by far my favorite story I've been working on. I'm only putting the first chapter for now just to get some feedback. Tell me what y'all think please. The next part will have translations.
The man's gray eyes gleamed as He scowled and pulled His dark green cloak closer around him. The tree above Him dumped yet more water on His sodden hood and cloak.
His relentless eyes surveyed the bleak, barren landscape before him. Fire-pits were scattered about in the ground. Their noxious fumes deterred any creatures
from willingly entering the foreboding lands. He scanned the ink-black walls and gate for any sign of movement. Every fiber in his body screamed for him to get away
from this place of death and pure malevolence. He refused to leave until he had gotten the information he needed. He could hear signs of life in the vast, lush forest behind him,
but life stopped abruptly at the cliff where he stood. He suddenly straightened seeing a man in red heading for the dark, looming, ominous gateway, dragging his horse along.
He heard the newcomer speak a harsh, guttural tongue unknown to him. "Sulvakarn Koi Murtren" the man in red shouted out.
A guard appeard atop the gate, gazing down before responding."Coznat Erk" the guard called out to him in the same tongue. Turning He shouted down to someone behind the wall "Ranzek Kir Anuk".
Slowly the great gates crept open, bathing the area in an eerie blood-red glow.
The man entered the gates and they swung shut behind him, with a bone-chilling, death-like groan. The man in green waited till after everyone had disappeard from sight and turned, striding north. He entered a shallow cave where his large, chestnut colored horse waited.
He mounted his horse and headed further north to the Misty Forest. Upon reaching it his horse hesitated, wary to enter, fearing the clinging mists.
He dismounted and reasured his horse, leading it into the forest. As they traveled his eyes were constantly roving, watching for any hidden dangers.
Suddenly his horse pricked his ears toward their left. He quieted the beast and tied him to a tree. He strode towards the spot where voices were coming from, and,
upon reaching it, hid in the shadows watching the camp. "Fraythun Beyer" he called out as he entered the encampment.
He had nearly reached the center before being seen."Delois! Where have you been Bowden? We've searched all over for you." a stout straw colored haired soldier named Kana asked as his brown eyes flashed in surprise.
Bowden sat by the fire taking his sword from his belt and reaching for the food told him to call up their companion.
"Barnez, come here" Kana called. A giant of a man with gray hair and green eyes came up from the river."Ferrel Kirth Bowden" he rumbled "Where is your horse?"
"In the forest about 15 yards in, over there" he pointed to where he had left his faithful steed.
Barnez strode into the forest and retrived Bowden's horse and tied him up with the others, feeding and watering him."Well, tell us where you've been Bowden" Kana said as Barnez returned to the fire. Bowden hesitated before speaking
"I've spotted Murtren out in the Fire-Lands. He entered in The Gates Of Kizad after speaking to the gate-keeper in their own langugue." he told them.
Silence descended on the camp for several minutes before Barnez broke it"Let us lay a trap for him! We must catch the filthy traitor! He deserves death" Barnez growled.
"You could do that or listen to my plan" a voice called from the middle of the camp.
