Lately your boyfriend jungkook has been acting distant. Normally when he did this he just needed a little time to himself to cool down before things went back to normal. Though, its been three days and he hasn't spoken to you once, it's really worrying you, not to mention how whenever you tried to talk to him he just ignored you. It made you feel like you'd done something wrong and you'd automatically assumed the worst: he wanted to break up but wasn't saying it.
You wanted to help him however you could so you decided to go to your shared room he was in and talk to him about the situation when he got home.
It was about seven and he normally came home at around nine so you waited for him. After about an hour and a half you were getting really tired and ended up falling asleep on the couch without realizing it. You woke up after not long to the sound of the front door opening. You sat up as Jungkook walked inside. "Jungkookie?" You asked, trying to get his attention. He just ignored you like he had been the past three days. He walked up the stair to your room silently. You watched him go as tears had begun to leave your eyes. You were so scared that you'd done something to make him want to leave you and the pain of him constantly ignoring your existance had finally gotten to you. You missed the feeling of him holding you in his arms and your tiny hands in his large ones, the feeling of his lips on yours and you missed the way his smile could light up even the darkest of rooms at the dead of night. Most of all, you missed him. You missed him so much it physically hurt you, brought pains to your chest and tears to your eyes.
You felt that you were to blame for his neglecting you. You felt you'd upset him to the point that he'd hated you but wasn't saying anything.
Finally, you'd stopped crying, your eyes bloodshot, puffy, and burning from the tears. Your head was pounding but you didn't care. All you cared about was helping Jungkook, you couldn't care less about yourself at the moment. You stood up and made your way to your room where he was and knocked on the door. "Jungkook?" You said, voice cracking and flatering, pain evident in your voice. When he didn't answer you sighed and opened the door cautiously. "Jungkook, can.. Can I please talk to you?" You asked quietly, receiving a response which consisted only of silence.
You took a deep breath befpre walking over and standing mext to the bed. "Jungkook please talk to me, it's- it's been three days, I'm really worried and I just want to help." She said, practically begging him. Nothing. Silence is all she received. "Please just talk to me Jungkook." You were beginning to get frustrated. "Was it me?" You said softly, looking down at your hands uneasily.
"What?" Jungkook asked, causing her to look up at him before immediately looking back down. You see, two of your previous boyfriends were abusive. The first physically and verbally and the second was emotionally abusive. So you were practically conditioned to automatically assume that you were the problem, which is why you were acting the way you did. You were scared. You'd thought about telling Jungkook about them but just never found a good time. Deep down you knew hed never hurt you intentionally but your past made you feel scared that he would hurt you if you'd made him mad.
"I- I said, was it me?" You repeated quietly. "Did- did I do something to upset you?" Jungkook only looked at your small, almost cowering form as you looked down at hands, not daring to make eye contact with him. Jungkook got up off of the bed and walked towards you. You didn't know if this was a good or bad sign, so your body instinctively stiffened, preparing yourself for the worst. Jungkook noticed this and was confused but ignored it. He stood in front of you and watched as you stood almost completely still, paying no mind to the light shaking of your body.
"Wanna know what's wrong?" He asked, knowing the answer already. Your body relaxed only slightly and you nodded slowly while keeping your eyes trained down on your hands. He walked over to your bedside table. "Well I'm fucking stressed okay?! I'm so fucking stressed with work and how much of a fucking dick my boss is! There! Are you happy now!?" He finally snapped after holding it in for so long. He slammed his fist down onto the table as he yelled. "Now can you please stop fucking bothering me?!" You flinched and crouched without even thinking. It had became an instinctive reaction for you whenever someone was mad at you. You were shaking as tears silently slid out of your eyes and down your cheeks. Jungkook saw this and immediately calmed down, not fully comprehending your reaction to his outburst. If anything he'd expected you to fire back at him or at least give him a look. You mumbled a small and quiet "I'm sorry", stuttering over both words that left your lips. He most definitely was not expecting an apology, at least not that kimd of apology. You sounded and looked so scared, so terrified and it made his heart break. "Y/n..?" He said softly and crouched down next to you. He just couldn't seem to understand why you were so scared. Yeah, he yelled at you but he didn't want this outcome. Hell, he didn't even know what outcime he wanted but it sure as he'll wasn't this.
You silently cried and sat on the floor cradling yourself. "I'm sorry." Once your tears had slowed down a bit you spoke, your voice barely above a whisper but he'd still heard you. He was worried about you, which was funny considering he'd ignored your mere existance for three whole days with you in the same house as him.
He was beyond confused to say the least. He'd never seen even remotely close to this state. Sure, he's seen you cry but it was normally from a sad scene in a movie or something like that. "Y/n, I'm.. I'm sorry for yelling at you. Please look at me." He said as softly as he slowly moved closer to you, your body visibly calming down slowly. You slowly looked up at him, hesitantly making eye contact. "Can we talk? I promise I'll be calm and I won't lash out at you this time." He said, trying to assure you and stood up. You slowly nodded and stood up. He walked to the living room and sat on the couch, you not far behind him.
"Y/n.." He started, trying to find the right words. You glanced up at him before looking your hands again. "I just.. I don't understand why you reacted like that. Is there a reason?" He asked and put his hand on your knee as he looked at you. You stiffened at his touch. You let out a soft breath.
"I guess now is as Good a time as any." You said and he looked at you furrowing his eyebrows in confusion. "What do you mean?" You sighed and looked up at him. "I've been meaning to tell you this for awhile but I could never find a good time and, well, you're asking so I might as well tell you." You said and exhaled again in an attempt at getting rid of your nervousness. "Okay well, just tell me." He said, trying to help encourage you. "I had two boyfriends before you and they were abusive." You said. He looked at you with furrowed brows. "Elaborate." He said. "The first physically and verbally abusive. He would hit me, punch me, throw things at me, and say things to me that were awful whenever I didn't so much as agree with him or do as he said." You took a deep breath before going on. "The second was emotionally abusive. He'd say no one would ever love me but him. He said I'd be dead without him and other things. They basically conditioned me to respond that way whenever someone gets mad at me and yells at me." You paused to collect your thoughts before looking at him. "I know deep down that you would intentionally hurt me like they did but my past makes so scared that you will that I can't rationalize in the moment and I just react like that. I'm sorry." You finished, it felt like a weight was lifted from you having finally told him about your past before him.
Jungkook, on the other hand, felt so many emotions after hearing how you'd been treated. Anger, frustration, confusion, sadness, and most prominent of all of them was regret. He regretted lashing out on you the way he did. He wished he could reverse time and make a better decision, but he couldn't and he knew and excepted that. "Y/n I.. I didn't know. I'm so sorry for how I acted. If I'd known I wouldn't have lashed out on you like that." He said before hugging you tightly, wanting only to protect you, love you, and never ever let you go again. "It's alright, it's kind of my fault too. I should've told you sooner." Jungkook pulled away from the hug and immediately shook his head. "I agree that you should've told me sooner but this is in no way your fault. Regardless of whether or not I'd known I still shouldn't have lashed out that way. You did nothing wrong. Nothing."
"I love you, y/n." He held you tightly in his arms. "I love you so much and I would never ever ever hurt you. Please please remember that." He muttered into your shoulder. You nodded, smiling. "Just please don't ignore me anymore," you pulled away to look at him. "I was so scared that I'd made you upset somehow or that you wrre going to break up with me. I-" He cut you off by pulling into a close hug again. "Baby no. I'm sorry I ignored you, I shouldn't have done that and I promise it won't happen again. But you could never ever make me want to break up with you. Your the best thing that has ever happened to me, you light up my life, I'd never let you go. And if I did, I'd be the stupidest man on the planet." He said, his words quickly reassuring you and bringing a smile to your face. "I love you, Jungkook." You said smiling into his shoulder. "I love you too, y/n. I love you so much."
