I was already getting late for school, so when i heard the car horn I ran to the door to see who was outside. It was my best friend, Annie, in her white jeep. I grabbed my backpack and my phone and said goodbye to my family, sort of rushed. I got in the car and said hi to her. She repaid with a smile on her face.
When we started our ride to school, Annie noticed I wasn't feeling the best. She obviously knew I had depression, but that day I trully wasn't okay.
I was looking at the window, but when I looked down, I saw an envelope, with my name on it.
"That's probably a gift for my birthday, tomorrow..." - I thought, but I didn't care and I kept looking at the view.
We continued our ride to school, jamming out to the songs of the "Teen Party" playlist on Spotify. Finally we had our classes at school, and the lunch time had come. Me and my little group of friends, which were mostly Annie's friends beacuse I'm not a social person, went to our table in the school canteen with our food. Annie was sitted by my side, and her two friends were on front of us. Of the corner of my eye, I noticed Annie was looking at me feeling kind of worried and trying to make a decision in her head. Then, she grabs her backpack and takes out the envelope I saw on the car. The one with my name on it.
-Look, I can't see you this way. Here-she said while giving me the envelope- I was supposed to give you this tomorrow, but I can't wait for you to see this...
Her friends started claping their hands and letting little screams escape. That was such a childish thing to do, but I didn't care and started opening the envelope.
When I opened it, there were two tickets for a concert of the band Why Don't We. It was my favorite band ever. I started tearing up, but I hide the tears with my sweater. I gave her a big hug and couldn't stop thank her for it.
Then, we went home, and I was feeling much better. Already with a smile on my face, which isn't something that would happen often.
