Cidney had decided to sleep over. I didn't protest. It was a couple hours after the.. event happened. We had just sat down for dinner.
"This is great chicken," Cidney spoke, stating the facts.
"I did tell you it was worth it to be vegetarian," I responded, waving my fork at her. "Yeah, but it's meat. Totally" She shot back. I let out a small giggle. Cidney stretched and shrugged off her sweater, revealing a tank top. A loose one at that. She leaned forward to take another bite, and I stared at her generous cleavage. I looked away quickly and just dismissed what had just happened. "You like anyone at school?" I asked, breaking the silence. "Um, I guess?" A sharp flare of rage flashed in my mind. Odd. "Who is this... person?" I asked. "Well, they're really pretty. They've been on my mind a lot recently. I dunno why. It's kinda odd cause we're friends." She responded. "That sure narrows it down. You're only friends with what? Half the school?" I let out a laugh but it was forced. I had this odd feeling inside me, knowing that Cidney liked someone. "Ha, yeah. Wanna play truth or dare?" She inquired, pushing her empty plate away. "Always."
We were sitting on my white plush rug. I had pulled out a box titled Truth or Dare for 2: The game. It's been a tradition for us to play the game. It's pretty much the same as truth or dare, but it gives you prompts for what to do. I picked from the stack of dare cards. "I dare you to... eat a spoonful of mayo," I laughed. Cidney groaned. We walked to the kitchen and grabbed the mayo jar. I handed Cidney a spoon gleefully. Hesitantly dipping her spoon into the tub, she tentatively brought the spoon to her mouth. She made a face but swallowed. "Your turn," she reminded me.
We ended the game late into the night. Or morning, I suppose you could say. We eventually collapsed into my queen bed, still in our clothes.
The next morning I woke up at about 11:30. I rolled over to find where Cidney was sleeping empty. I cracked my eyes open to see her getting changed. I opened my eyes wider in shock, and admittedly, admiration. Her shirt was off and her back was facing me. She had on a black bralette that showed off her toned body. She turned around to grab a different bra she had laid out on the coffee table between my bed and where she was standing. She. Started. To. Unclip. Her. Bra. I squinted my eyes so she couldn't see I was looking. What is wrong with me?! I shouldn't be staring at my friend getting changed! Nonetheless, I didn't say anything.
It wasn't a bad view at all. My mouth went dry. At that moment, I came to terms with what I had always known. I had it bad for Cidney. Like, bad. Luckily for me, her pants were already on. She shrugged on her bra and then a shirt. On cue, I yawned and stretched. Acting like I hadn't just seen pure beauty. Shit, I'm gay. I rolled over and mumbled "Five more minutes." Cidney laughed and opened the blinds unapologetically. "Wake up you sleepy-head." She said affectionately. She then whispered something under her breath. "Huh?" I asked. "I said, you look cute when you wake up Maeve." She mumbled, staring at the ground, embarrassed. I blushed.
We weren't hungry yet, so we decided to put on some depressing romantic movie. I snuggled closer to Cidney with light flooding through large windows behind the couch. It was quite picturesque.
At the climax of the movie when everyone was getting together Cidney tilted her head towards me and smiled so sweetly, so delicately. I knew then I had to do something. Too many feelings were flooding inside my heart. I felt like I was going to burst. I snuggled closer to her, pushing down the suffocating feelings.
