Five Years After the End...
"Christopher Finley get your arse out here before you miss your own wedding!" I furiously pounded my fist on the door.
"Jensen...I think I'm going to be sick."
I sighed. "Finley, there's nothing to be worried about."
"You don't know that! What if he doesn't show up?"
I rolled my eyes. "He's already there. What do you think I was doing before I came over here? I'm getting a bit tired of dragging grown men out of the toilets."
It was silent for a few moments before I heard the slight click of the door being unlocked. It creaked slowly open to reveal a haggard looking, red-eyed Finley.
"Aw, Finley, you don't get to cry!" I pulled him into a tight hug. "He loves you, you know that. He wouldn't have said yes when you proposed if he didn't."
"I know. I've just waited for this for so long that it's hard to believe it's actually happening. I keep expecting to wake up at some point or something to go terribly wrong and it's driving me insane." He murmured into my ear.
I pulled back to look him in the eye. "Nothing is going to go wrong. I promise. I will personally murder anyone who dares to mess with this wedding. It's going to happen flawlessly if I have anything to say about it."
He cracked a smile. "Then I guess we better get going, huh?"
"No shit Sherlock! Get moving!"
An hour later, Finley was all dressed up and ready to go. He managed to make it to the church and get dressed in his tuxedo without having another meltdown, but I could tell he was still nervous by the way he kept tugging on his tie.
"Are you going to be okay Finley? I've got to go get ready now."
He immediately stopped fiddling with his clothes and looked up at me. "Christ Jensen! Go! Can't have a naked bridesmaid, can we? I mean, we could but..." He flashed me a smirk which turned into a scowl when I slapped him on the back of the head.
"Bloody hell Jensen, just go!" I laughed as I headed towards the door.
"If you feel another breakdown coming on, let me know so I can run in the opposite direction. I've had enough with the touchy-feely for one day." I threw over my shoulder as I exited Finley's dressing room. I really needed to get ready; the wedding was in an hour and I was still in jeans and a T-Shirt with not a stitch of make-up on (The last part I didn't really care about but Mary and Tamara would murder me if I tried to duck out of it).
Things really had changed over the past five years. Mac and Arthur got married, and if that wasn't enough for me to wrap my head around, it had taken me even longer to understand Arthur and Tamara as a couple; and I still got creeped out whenever I walked in on them snogging. Ever since Arthur and Tam tied the knot, I was officially the only single child in the family. It was a bit depressing actually, and I preferred not to dwell on that particular fact for too long.
I was snapped out of my thoughts when my mother raced down the hallway towards me carrying my bridesmaid dress. "Elliot Jensen you are getting into this dress right this minute if I have to drag you into that dressing room by your hair!"
I held up my hands in mock surrender as she herded me into the crowded dressing room. "There you are Elliot; I've been looking for you everywhere!" Tamara complained as she grabbed my wrist and dragged me to the corner marked 'Elliot'. I didn't have enough time to reply before she insisted I take my clothes off before she did it herself. As soon as I was shoved into the form-fitting dress I was forced down onto a stool and had my hair done and my make-up painted on in record time, while repeatedly being scolded for fidgeting too much.
