School Crush

Chapter 1

Today, I am starting my senior year of high school. I am determined to make this the best year yet. I woke up and jumped into the shower where I washed my hair, body and, face. After I showered I got dressed in my outfit for the day and went to wake up my little brother.

"Case, get up. It's your first day of high school." I said while shaking him. As he slowly got up, I went back to the bathroom where I dried and curled my hair. I normally wouldn't have done anything with my hair but, I had to get pictures taken for the Senior Advisory Board today.

After I was done with my hair, I threw on some makeup and then ate breakfast, brushed my teeth and then dragged my little brother out the door with both of our backpacks. We got into the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee and began our long drive to school.

We drove out of the property and we were about to reach the paved road when, I noticed somebody standing at the stop sign like they were waiting for the bus. When I got up to the stop sign I rolled down my window and said "Are you waiting for the bus that's going to Lakewood Ranch High School?" The boy replied "Yeah, are you going to be waiting too?" I responded "No, I'm driving to school and I think you missed the bus already. It comes by at 6:15 and the time is now 6:30." "Are you kidding me? It's the first day and I already missed the bus?" "Yeah, it seems so. I can give you a ride if you want hop in the passenger seat because my little brother is sleeping in the back."

He hopped into the car and said "Hi, I'm Nick. I just moved here." I replied "I'm Hope." We then took off with our thirty minute drive to school.

We didn't talk to much, most of the ride we were quiet. As we got closer, we began to talk some more. "So, what grade are you in?" He asked. "I'm a senior this year, what about you?" I replied. "I'm a senior too but, that's because I am doing early graduation." "Cool, I'm on the senior board so if you need any information you can come and talk to me. I will gladly help you learn the ropes of our school." "Wow, thank you so much. I have so many questions. If I begin to bother you just let me know." He said while laughing. "It takes a lot to bother me." I said while pulling into my parking spot.

I then yelled at Case telling him to wake up and we all got out of the car. Case walking off after I introduced him to Nick.

"So, you ready to start your last first day of high school?" I asked him. "I'm as ready as I'll ever be."

We walked into the school and I began to look for a home room sheet. I found one and explained to him that we will go to homeroom and there he will get his schedule and his planner. I recommend that he should use the map in his planner to get around school today.

After that I showed him where the library, gym, cafeteria, and auditorium were and explained the building numbers. We then went to Ms.Fleury's room where I decided to go and hang out at this morning.

"Good morning Hope!" She said as I walked in. "Good morning Ms.Fleury, this is Nick. He is a new student as well as a senior here this year." Ms.Fleury being the Senior Board advisor said "Awesome, so you can get him set up on remind and explain the senior fees to him?" "Yes mam' I can do that."

So we sat in some desks and I gave him the remind code and explained the senior fees to him. By that time the bell had rang and we left to our homerooms.

I got into homeroom and sat down with my friend Nash. "Hey Nash, how was your summer?" "It was good, what about you?" "All I did was work and volunteer, so I guess you could say good."

We sat around and waited for the teacher to hand out our schedules, planners, FSA scores and, bio forms. Not many people talked until after the teacher was done passing out our stuff.

"Hey Nash, let me see your schedule." I said. I looked at his schedule and saw that we had first period english together. "This is the first year since 5th grade that we've had a class together." I laughed. "Yeah, so I can copy off you right?" He asked jokingly. After the bell rang Nash and I walked to our class in room 522.

We said hello to the teacher who I had tenth grade year and then went and sat down. I sat in anticipation to see who all would be in my class this year. I knew pretty much everyone in class besides a couple of students. The teacher started class and began introducing herself when someone knocked on the door. Me being closest to the door, I went and opened it to see Nick.

"Late to the first class of the day?" I said while smirking at him. He chuckled and then went into class and explained to the teacher that he got lost. He then went and sat down at the empty desk in front of my seat. We listened to the teacher go over the syllabus and class rules and then she gave us free time to talk.

I walked up to the teacher's desk and said "Ms.Grimes, do you mind if I make an announcement on behalf of the Senior Advisory Board?" "No, just let me introduce you first."

"Can I have your guys' attention please. This is Hope and she is a part of the senior board this year and she has an announcement to make." "Thank you Ms.Grimes and hello everybody. I would just like to let you guys know that we have a remind set up for all seniors to join where we will give you information about graduation, senior fees, and anything else. I will write the code and the number on the board and if you guys would please join it, that would be great. Let's have a great senior year and if you guys have any questions feel free to come up to me."

I went back and sat down in my seat. "So, this morning when I explained the rooms did it go in one ear and out the other?" I said laughing to Nick. "No, I just got lost in the sea of people." He said while laughing. "Let me see your schedule and your planner." I said while pulling out my colored pens. I labeled the buildings with their numbers and then circled his classes in different colors and drew the route to them.

"Thank you" He said. I pulled my schedule back out and looked at it. "Look we have math, government, engineering, and marketing together." I said. "Good, so we can meet up and you can lead me to class?" He asked. "Sure, if you want me to." The bell then rang and we started to walk off to math.

"So, do you have any siblings?" I asked him. "Yeah, I have an older brother named Ricardo but, we just call him Ricky or Rick. He's 19 and he graduated two years ago, what about you any other siblings?" "I have another brother he's 18 and he graduated last year. Then I have a bunch of guy friends that are like brothers to me."

By that time we reached our class and I said hello to the teacher who I had from last year as well. I introduced Nick to her and we went into the class and sat down. We continued to talk until the bell rang and the teacher began to talk.

When she finished she decided that she was going to work on memorizing our names. So she made us take a small piece of paper and write three unique things about us. I wrote on mine

1) I was invited to Washington D.C. over the summer to eat dinner with the president's son.
2) I'm extremely patriotic.
3) I have a pet deer.

We handed them in and she went down the rows trying to remember us. She reached Nick and said "I don't really know what I can remember you by your facts are unique but, they don't rhyme or go with your name." "I mean when I was younger people called me Ninja Nick." "That'll work." she said. She went through the rest of the people in that row and then she got to me. As she was looking at my sheet she says "Wait Hope, you have a pet deer?" "Yeah, I talked about her all the time last year." I said while laughing. "Do you have a picture?" "Yeah" I said and walked up to her desk and actually played a video of the deer playing in the moss. "Awe, she's so cute." I then went back and sat in my desk.

Nick said "Wait, you actually have a pet deer?" "Yeah" I said and showed him the video. "Wow, that's awesome." "I know, maybe one day I can bring you to meet her."

Then the bell rang and we went on for the rest of the day. Planning to meet back at my car after school.
