"To us." The fire whispered to the ice. "And to all the preposterous amount of impossible lovers."

There is nothing more truly artistic than to love people.

The first thing Kim Taehyung thought that morning when he woke up was how happy he was.
In the middle of the king size bed, right in the center of the room, he extended his arms little by little outside the still warm blankets. At his back the only picture window that provided light to the entire bedroom and in front of him, his favorite painting. There was no room for anything else.
"Don't you find it... eccentric?" Daeho had asked when they were wandering inside the gallery. "I don't want to be that boyfriend but..."
Taehyung had shaken his head right away. "I think is raw. I don't usually like this kind of abstract art but this one... this one... it's calculated almost erotic. The shapes are refined and the curves are attractive, you don't know where to start to looking at it, when to stop. The shadows and the light are in perfect harmony. It's simple but it's complex. It's hard to summarize. It's breathtaking."
His boyfriend stared at him fondly and then he went back to the painting one more time. "It is breathtaking." He had sentenced.
Taehyung was pleased just with that victory. He was the expert after all.
It had been a gift from his boyfriend a month after they started dating, two and a half years ago but the colors were still as vibrant as the day he had brought it to the apartment. After placing it in the interior without even hanging it because there was no nail on the wall yet, he kissed him and pushed him into the bed with an indelible smile on his face.
Since then, Taehyung changed the organization of the room through the years; he moved all the remaining furniture to the living room or got rid of what he didn't need anymore. There was just enough place for that painting and his bed as there was only room for Daeho in his heart from that moment on.
He painted all the walls immaculately white and installed the best lighting system because that piece needed to be in a museum or an art gallery somehow, it needed to be honored, to be loved and adored in the same way he was in that bed.
So he turned his own room into an art gallery for it.
He wanted it to be the first thing he saw every morning when he woke up and the last thing before he turned off the lights when he went to bed at the end of the day. And until that date, it was.
His boyfriend approached with a bright beaming smile as he leaned softly in the bed placing his elbows on the white fabric. "Good morning, dear." A quick peck was placed on the sleepy boy's lips.
"Morning." Taehyung's voice sounded low and raspy as he lazily opened his mouth to elaborate a sentence. "You're leaving already?" there was a pout on his face as soon as he realized the other man was already all dressed up and ready to go.
"One of us has to go to work soon or later." Daeho excused himself as he shrugged.
Taehyung caught his hand without much effort. "Still, do you really have to go just now?" He tightened up his grip with a naughty grin on his face.
"I guess..." He exaggerated a sigh. "I can be a few minutes late... no one will notice..."
"You're their boss, babe."
