Why am I still here in the dark, alone while she's with another guy. As I let my tears flow down my cheeks

"Son are you there?" great, now mom going to see my pathetic state

"Yeah, wait a sec mom" I said as I tried to wipe the last trace of tears on my cheek

I flicked the light switch open and checked my face infront of the mirror for any hint that I was crying before

Here goes nothing. I unlocked and opened the door

"Gabe hun, what do you want for dinner?" My mom asked with a hint of worried expression in her face

Great now Mom knows.

"Anything" I can't let my shaky voice out. Not infront of my mom

"Are you sure, don't you want dim sum from the Chinese restaurant that you like?"

"Anything is fine with me" I said with the brightest smile I was able to make at this state

"I'll go get some dim sums for take out and some other things your sister wants. I'll be right back" Mom said with a smile a kind of smile that warms your heart

"Thanks, mom" I said as I stared at mom walking out of the house and into the car before driving off

As I closed the room door a hand reached out causing the door to stop halfway

"What do you want?"

Why the hell does she has so many free times?

"I want you to talk to me, brother"

I can't do anything but stare at the blankly

"About...What?"

"Dont give me the 'act dumb' attitude. I know something had happened that made you go all emo the Gabriel that I know don't sulk all day in his room" she snorted

I repeated it in my mind as if it was a mantra

"Anyway, big brother don't be a pussy or stay emo. Whatever it is I know you're stronger and you won't give up that easily." I looked at the television behind her to avoid looking her straight to eyes and breaking into tears

"Mom is worried about you so stop sulking, okay?" Wow for the first time in my life my sister had said something without curse word on it to me

"I'll get pass this, it's nothing than a phase I had to face sooner or later. Don't worry about me and don't let mom know that I'm like this" I said pointing at my pathetic self

She nodded in agreement and walked away to her room

I closed the door

My leg gave up and I plopped to the floor and I let the tears flow

After some time I can't feel anything anymore

But the sadness is still there

What do I do now? I can't do anything anymore. she's gone

I can't do anything else huh? The only way is to suck it up and move one

"Sylvia, Gabriel come out of you're room lets have dinner together" I should go i don't have want her to worry about me anymore

This is it I can't stay depressed. She's gone out of my life. Forget her

There is more to the world than her

I swung open the door

"Look, The raccoon has finally left its den" Sylvia sneered

I gave her a cold look that made her shudder followed by my genuine smile and whispered 'Thank You' so slow that only Sylvia can hear

She blinked for a few times before acting as if nothing had happened

"Are you sleeping enough gabe? Your eyebag are getting darker and darker"

"Assignments has been piling up I had to take a few all nighter other than that I'm fine." I don't like the idea of lying to my mom but this will be better for her

"Studies are important but your health is the most important thing in this world, here eat this and go to sleep" Mom said as she passed me steaming hot dim sum

I've finally realized,

I love my family more than anything in this world

I wish this warm Moment with my family stay like this forever

And later that night I finally broke the news to my family that my girlfriend had broke up with me to go with some guy.

They were worried at first but they understood the hint from my silence and never asked any questions.

I guess life does goes on huh?
