"Hi, Jess. Welcome home." The woman smiled. The room smelled of cinnamon and vanilla. At the end of the room stood a tall, middle-aged man who had dark brown hair and a dimple on his cheek. Beside him stood two children, a boy and a girl.
"Jess!" The little girl ran up to her and gave her a warm hug. "Let's go play, outside!" She wanted to go, but somehow she felt that she couldn't. The woman seemed to notice this and said, "I think Jess needs to rest first, don't you sweetie?" Jess nodded. "Willow, can you bring her to her room, I'm going to prepare dinner now."
"Sure, Mom!" And Willow grabbed Jess's arm and took her upstairs. This was the new house she was going to live in. This was the new family she belonged to. This was her new home.
