The Break Up - Megan's Tale

Chapter Five

''Please, please don't say you accepted?!'' I pleaded with an open mouth.

''At first I didn't, but he just wouldn't take no for an answer. He kept saying how much attracted he was to me, and how he would do anything to be with me, even if only in secret. That offer really got to me, and I thought for a moment. He took the chance of my silence and continued to plead with me, say that no one but us would know, and how much fun the sneaking around would be and so on. I didn't answer him, I just said I had to go and then hung up right away not even waiting to hear his good bye. The next day at English I was very highly distracted by his presence in front of me that I landed myself a detention after school. I wasn't really pissed off about it, I took it as an opportunity to think clearly. But he had other plans. He came and sat with me the WHOLE time. He came after the first 10 minutes, claiming that he only came to say hi, but then we moved on from topic to topic until suddenly I heard the bell ring. He offered to walk me home and I couldn't find a valid reason to say no so I just shrugged and he just kept walking along side of me. Half way to my house, he told me that he was still waiting for my answer. After everything that had happened between us that day I almost said okay right away but I didn't. I took a thoughtful moment and told him that we could be secret lovers like he said yesterday, and that each one of us could tell just one person that we trust. After I finished talking I looked at him and saw that he was smiling widely. I don't know what made me hug him, maybe the way his dimples were showing or the fact that he was officially my boyfriend. He was taken by surprise at first but after a second he hugged me even tighter and my heart just skipped a beat.'' I'm sure that if I open my eyes any wider they would fall out of their sockets, and that my chin was now resting peacefully on my chest. I just couldn't believe she said yes! Although he was pretty damn sexy, and she said he was sweet with her and all that, so maybe I could see why she did now. By the time I started to recover from my initial shock she was laughing so hard that she had tear in her eyes.

''What are you laughing at?!'' I asked her teasingly even though I already knew the answer.

''Your face!'' She said and started laughing again. I gave her a teasing slight punch in the arm then asked her to continue.

''He continued to be sweet with me.'' she said, ''Heck he was even sweeter afterwards. We continued to have our night chats, which we becoming so long that we were both barely getting any sleep, and when we weren't chatting we would be on the phone. He stdrted to buy me gifts, flowers, chocolate, everything. On our first week's anniversary , he even me a bracelet. It was so beautiful, a thin white chain with a heart pendant beside the lock. when he gave it to me my eyes were swimming in a pool of tears. We were in my back yard, because Linda could see my front yard from hers, and I just couldn't risk her knowing. I gave him a thank you kiss on the lips, it was our first kiss. It was perfect, the moment was perfect, the weather was perfect, and he was perfect then in my eyes. He said that I already had his heart but he wanted me to have something to remind me of him, as if I needed a reminder. The next day at school I was wearing it of course, and guess who noticed it and asked me about me about it?''
