We followed the kid through the crowd. He ducked into a small building and we followed.

We kept walking until we saw a room. The boy stopped and peered in, us doing the same. I saw a basket in the middle of the room on a pedestal, a lid on it. Something told me that that was what we were looking for.

"What you need is in the basket."

The boy was rhyming. Just great.

"One false move, you're in a casket. Trust one another, and never blink."

He turned to look at us, and I could practically hear the eerie music.

"The missing piece is not what you think."

"Oh vey." Spencer muttered.

"Good luck, mighty heroes. Jumanji needs-"

"Jumanji needs us." Fridge interrupted, nodding sarcastically. "We know. You've said it several times."

The kid then took off, and we looked back at the basket. "So..." I muttered, taking a step closer.

"Think there's a...snake in there or something?" Spencer asked. "Yep." Me and Fridge said in unison. "This looks like a Bravestone thing to me."

"Why would this be a Bravestone thing?" He asked. "Because you need to set an example for the weaklings. You heard what the kid said, Jumanji needs you. Now git!" I hissed, almost nudging him forward.

Spencer took a deep breath, and stepped into the room. The second he did, the drums started playing again. Okay, that was starting to get really creepy.

"I don't want to do this!" Spencer whined. "Just go!" Fridge snapped. Spencer reluctantly turned back around and slowly walked to the basket. We carefully filed in, spreading out and keeping a safe distance away from the center. Spencer finally got to the basket, and grabbed the sides. We all shared looks, before nodding.

He opened the basket, and...

"BLACK MAMBA!" Fridge screamed as a snake appeared. Me and Martha and Bethany shrieked as Spencer quickly smashed the lid back down. I bent down panting while Fridge started rambling his zoology crap.

"That was a Black Mamba. A quarter milligrams of its becoming is enough to kill an adult. You feel a blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah, which means loss of muscle control...How do I know this?!"

"Did you see anything in there?" I asked Spencer, eyeing the basket that was now shaking slightly. "I didn't get to look. Okay, 'trust one another and never blink'. Never blink." Spencer mumbled.

Bethany suddenly gasped, honestly making me flinch for a second. "You guys! I think it's a staring contest."

"Huh?" I said, along with everyone else. "Come on, think about. Never blink?" It did kind of make sense. "And then Spencer will just reach in and grab whatever else is in there."

"What? Why me again?" Spencer asked.

"Because look at you!" I couldn't help saying, gesturing to his body.

"Okay, Fine! Who's good at staring and not blinking?"

I knew I wasn't good at it, so I didn't say anything. Fridge was already blinking frantically, which I would've laughed at if the situation wasn't so dire.

Bethany finally looked up.

"I'm amazing at it."

"Then this is you're moment to shine." I said hoping to give some sort of encouragement.

We all backed up to give her some room as she knelt down in front of the basket. "Just say when." Spencer said, still keeping the top on.

Bethany inhaled and exhaled. "Go." She said.

Spencer then lifted the top and the snake rose up again. Bethany tried to stare at it, but then it hissed and showed it's razor fangs.

Bethany shrieked and fell back and the snake went flying.

With reflexes I didn't even know I had, both me and Spencer grabbed it by the head just before it attacked Martha. Both of us stared in shock as our hands were practically on top of each other, holding the snake in a tight grip. The reptile was thrashing and hissing, trying to attack.

"What do we do now?!" I yelled. I frantically looked around, noticing Fridge seemed to realize something.

"You gotta defang it."

"What?!" Me and Spencer both said in unison as the small man walked up and grabbed the snake, forcing its mouth open.

"You gotta pull his mouth back from the blind spot to disorient it, but you have to be very careful of the exposed venom glands and secondary venom sack. And then..."

He reached in and grabbed the snakes fang. "You gotta snap it's teeth..."

I cringed as he ripped out each fang, Martha doing the same.

"Out of its head!" Fridge finished as he pulled out the second fang. The snake hissed and went limp. Spencer let go of it so I was the only one still holding it. I also let go and just let it fall to the ground.

"Thanks, guys." Martha said, smiling. I just smirked, noticing that Spencer seemed a little shy as he said "Oh yeah, sure.".

I rolled my eyed, seeing Fridge doing the same.

"I guess it wasn't a staring contest." Bethany said.

"Trust each other, and never blink." Martha recited, the clue now making sense to us. "You trusted me." Fridge said to me and Spencer. "You trusted me and I defanged the snake! I did that!"

I couldn't help a small giggle as the others congratulated the excited Fridge. I then saw Bethany wall up to the basket and reach inside.

"This does not look like a piece of the map."

I saw her hold up a small package. She then unwrapped it and pulled out a small elephant statue.

"The missing piece is an elephant?" Martha asked. I walked closer to inspect it. It was like a mini figure someone would make for a board game.

"Wait." Bethany said as she looked at the paper. "There's something on the wrapping. 'When you see me, begin the climb.'"

"Begin the climb? When you see an elephant?" Martha questioned. I shrugged. We all started heading out, now with our next piece of the puzzle.

Just as I left, I thought I heard a bird or something. But when I looked, it was gone.
