She ran and ran, faster and faster. She didn't stop, not for anything. People called her name.
"Guinevere!" They called. The red head never stopped running. She was determined, her brown eyes focused on the crystal in the middle of the field. Shrinking and shrinking, she had no choice but to run faster. Her dress was getting ripped into pieces by the thorns. She was in the middle of the field now. The crystal is now missing. Gone. Evaporated into thin air. The brown eyes of the princess turned into a bloody red. Air was spinning her around. Engulfing her into its danger. She spun and spun, light had became a layer to the wind tornado. The crowd was circling the woman. Soon, the twirling stopped and the girl was placed on the ground. Her knees crouched into her chest. Her face on the wet grass, palms trying to push herself up, but she was too weak. She managed to bring her head up. Her eyes were a blood red color instead of the chocolate brown, her hair is as black as ravens instead of the orange before. Her dress became a black and red dressed, ripped badly.
"Who did this to you?" Princess Katherine said to her best friend, getting her way through the crowd.
"Oh dear, Who do you think?" The now raven colored hair girl was able to float.
"A WITCH! A WITCH SHE IS!" A townsman yelled.
"No, I am not a witch..You see, witches don't exist..I am a sorcerer..I traded my soul for these powers" Her voice. It wasn't her. The sound of it was dead and raucous.
"WHY!?!?" King Arthur yelled at his daughter.
"Well, lets say..." She faked pondered. "That I am NOT that girl anymore" Her laugh, even more evil than her voice. Princess Katherine spoke up again, her brown hair and aqua eyes are staring at the girl she used to know. Her eyes were watery and glossy, threatening to spill tears.
" Well, Sorceress Guinevere, If this is who you have became, then you better get ready for the fight of your life" She was strong- stronger than ever even with tears streaming down her cheeks, she was ready for the fight of her life.
" Hmm, really?" Guinevere laughed at the princess. "You never liked fights, and never pursued them. How about a game of chess? After all it is your favorite." She smirked. "I go first." She said, slowly and tauntingly. Her red eyes gleamed. She raised her hand and pointed her index finger, which now had dark black nail polish on it, to a poor little boy. "Ha, I always known your weaknesses, Katherine" Her words dripped with evil, pouring onto Katherine like a rain, hurting her in every possible way. Her heart was in pain. Her gaze faced Katherine, who feared for the little boy.
"RUN! YOU HAVE TO RUN" Katherine said to the boy. He tried to raise his arm, but he couldn't. A force was keeping him still, keeping his arms frozen by his sides.
"I can't" His squeaky, wobbly, small voice crept up, full of sorrow. and with one flick of a finger, the little boy fell to the ground, eyes closed with a loud thump. Katherine pinched the front of her dress and ran towards the boy. She bent down beside him
"Please, please be awake" Katherine cried, her crown slightly falling. A tear fell from her cheek and landed on to the boys pale face, and swam down his cheek bones onto the soaked grass.
"Your turn, Katherine" Her devilish sentence, ended with a evil laugh.
"I banish you, from the land of Zelia. I banish you so you will NEVER return" That was her move, her chess move that was destined to finish the game.
"So be it...I can destroy other lands cant I?" And with that, Princess Guinevere disappeared from Katherine's life forever. Her heart struggles to beat- knowing her best friend betrayed her, betrayed their country. More knights have been killed, day by day Her devilish laugh, still haunting her and the field that turned into a forest. She would see her in her dreams- haunting her, taunting her. Until one day, as queen, she lost it, and went into the forest where the change has taken place, where Guinevere's laugh repeats over and over again, bouncing off each tree. The knights saw her, and ran towards to try to save her.
"Check." That voice came out of no where, echoing throughout forest. Knight Wagner ran faster than ever as he is her protector as well as her best friend.
"KILL ME ALREADY GUINEVERE! KILL ME! YOU ALREADY DESTROYED ME! YOU KILLED THAT YOUNG BOY, MY FATHER, MY PEOPLE, MY KNIGHTS!" She yelled into the emptiness of the forest. Her voice cracking and she was croaking until she finished her speech to her once best friend.
In a blink of an eye, Katherine has fallen to her knee's, with her head fallen beside until she thumped to the side. Like twenty years ago, the rain started falling and people ran towards the fallen queen, whose dress covered the grass from getting soaked from the heavy rain.
"Checkmate."
