When I was a young boy. My father took me into the city. To see a marching band.

I clicked my tongue and re-plugged the earpiece that had slipped out, taking my leisurely walk down the hallway watching the other students move out of my way like there was some kind of known force surrounding me. It was a positive to being alone, yet at the same time it only left and isolated feeling. But for once, I was having a good day. If you don't know me, good days are really hard to come across. Maybe it has something to do with my parents being on a trip out of town and the fact that Zoe and I had a mutual understanding at the house when we were alone that left us watching movies and snacking on all the food that had been forbidden by our parents. It was just a good day for him, that still didn't change his sourball expression because if he started smiling he knew everyone would be staring at him and then he would feel self conscious and then immediately sour his good day and he was actually TRYING to keep this good mood going before he falls back into the pitfall of being trapped in his mind and having outbursts of rage and anger that made him feel like an animal.

He said, son, when you grow up. Would you be the savior of the broken The beaten, and the damned?

"Bum...bum bum buuuum bum." I gently started 'bumming' to the background tune as I turned the corner being face to face with a huge sign across the stairs up to my next class that read in big bold letter, "Danger! Some stairs have been damaged due to disrespectful conduct and vandalism. Please use the Elevator." Great. I stopped humming along and frowned. I thought the elevator was only for people who were like, I dunno broke legs or something like that. That means it was going to be crowded around this time. I decided to wait until classes started before even attempting to access the elevator, who cares if I was a little late? You think I would get appreciation for showing up when it was pointless. I let out a sigh and just as the halls emptied out made my way towards the elevator. Normally you had to have a key in order to open it but it seems like they left it unlocked for the students like me who had a class on the second floor. I jammed the button allowing the door to open and take a look inside. It was quite spacious, I wonder how many kids break their legs. I shook my head gently and started focusing back onto the song in my earphone and clicked the button to the next door.

"Wait! Wait! Keep it open!" Was there someone yelling? I tore out the earbuds hearing the sound still loud and clear, geeze I listened to this loud. Who cares though? It's not like hearing is that important, maybe I wouldn't have to hear all this bullshit about keeping the door open. Nevertheless I put my foot in before it closed and caught sight of a kid who looks as though he had ran all the way over to school. He was carrying books in his arms and his hair wasn't combed which was odd, but endearing I suppose. I couldn't help but respect someone who didn't look nice for school, especially someone like Evan Hansen. He ran into the doorway and started panting wildly.

"ImsossorryImadeyouopenupthedooritsjustthatImlatecauseIsleptinandIneverdothatnormally." Jesus Christ he could talk fast, I didn't think anyone could for the matter. I held up my hands seeing the other stress so much was starting to get me stressed which was not helping my goal. He would be good in those toy commercials with that annoying dick who talks way to god dam fast.

"Hey, woah just calm the fuck down for a second. Jesus, it's not the end of the world you're late. You don't see me getting my panties up in a bunch." Evan's face was flushed as his eyes immediately darted down to the floor, picking at the ends of his cast...cast? That wasn't there before. I tapped the button to the elevator and looked the other up and down.

"I'm sorry..." It's true he was annoying but I could actually imagine why the other was so stressed. After all when you're a goody two shoe, being late is like someone like me killing somebody. Of course with me, everyone expected it...That though made my stomach drop.
