"I can't believe summer is already half over!" Mia tells me. We are outside tanning by my pool.
"Don't worry about that we still have plenty of time", I tell her.
"Hey do you want a drink?" I said.
"Sure!" Mia said getting up.
We walked inside and my parents stopped talking making me suspicious but I decided not to say anything.
"Aw, I have to go", Mia said looking at her phone.
She gave me a quick hug before running out the back door to get her belongings. I then went back outside to get my phone and towel that I had been lying on. I saw a text from Austin.
Hey, do you want to go the county fair with me tomorrow?
Sure! What time?
I'll meet you at your house at 7 then we can walk to the fair.
Ok! I'll see you then.
I walked back inside and decided to ask my parents what they were talking about.
"Hey Mom! hey Dad, what were you talking about when Mia and I walked in."
They exchanged a look before answering me. "Samantha we think your old enough to know about your real parents."
"Okay so who are my real parents?"
"Your real name is Samantha Davids and your mother unfortunately died giving birth to you. as for your father Jeremiah he is mentally gone crazy after the death of his wife. He would track aliens and try say that the earth was doomed. That's when we got you."
I was only age two when I got adopted but I vaguely remember seeing strange maps and hear my father speaking of aliens.
"So where is my real father now?"
"Oh he is in isolation at some hospital", my dad quickly replied.
"Ok, is there anything else?"
"We can tell you the details later and we need to show you some things as well," my mom said.
With that I grabbed my phone and went up to my room to think over everything I just heard.
