The sky was dark and for the city that never sleeps, the streets were awfully quiet, it was as if the city knew what was going to go down that night. The only sounds that could be heard were the faint ambulance sirens coming from miles away, and the cold air blowing against the paperbag across the street. With my head down I walked down the street, giving my partner the signal as I approached the front door of the seemingly abandoned building.

"I'm in position" Gage said through the radio.

"Copy that." I replied, entering the building and finding a hiding spot behind some wood planks.

Not long after the door busted open and three men stepped through, they were yelling about something that I could not quite hear.

I continued to watch as they got closer, and I was finally able to pick up some of what they were saying.

"The boss ...angry.....don"

"We Can't... the bag"

"The stuff.... Bag.... right"

Not quite being able to hear them I snuck a peak only to see  two other men walk through the door with a big briefcase. The man carrying the case was tall and lean, his face was clean shaven and a faint scar could be seeing above his left eye. The one beside him was almost the complete opposite, he was shorter but muscular, and his caramel skin and dark eyes gave him a mysterious vibe. One of the men that were already here, a short skinny man with a shaggy beard and crooked teeth stepped out and grabbed a bag from the corner of the room.

"Show us the money,'' the skinny man said.

The man with the briefcase then opened it and cash was revealed.

"The powder?" asked the briefcase man.

The skinny man opened his bag to reveal the drugs, bingo i thought.

"Let's bust this case" I said through the mic and on key police officers burst in through every entrance. I stepped away from my hiding place gun in hand and pointed it at the men

"NYPD you're under arrest" I yelled out as the rest of the officers cuffed the men.

"Nice Job out there" said my partner.

"Thanks Gage" I replied smiling, "Let's get back to the station.

A short drive later and we were back at the station, I got out of my car and closed the door. Upon walking inside everyone in the room clapped, I jokingly bowed and thanked them for their praise.

"Captain wants to talk to ya" said Gage from beside me, I nodded and made the way to Captain Kurtis's office.

"Come in" he said from the other side of the door.

"You wanted to see me cap?" I asked entering the room and sitting across from him.

"Yes," he replied, "You have been doing fine work here, and I thought that since you had so many successful drug busts... this case may interest you.."

He pushed a file across the desk encouraging for me to look at it, I grabbed it and began to read it and the more I read, the more my eyes widened.

"The Mafia..?" I asked unsure if what I read was true.

"Indeed" he said leaning back in his chair.

"They have a strip club, here in New York that they use as a cover for smuggling drugs and illegal weapons, I figured you would be perfect for it." he said, "of course you would have to go undercover.. Which means no contact with anyone."

I nodded and encouraged him to continue speaking.

"I'd like you to get a job there, as a server, observe everyone, gain their trust... and then once you've found enough proof, we could arrest those criminals for life," he said in a serious tone. "Are you up for the job?"

"Yes sir," I replied in a serious tone.

"Good, I'll see you here at 9am sharp for your fake identity and background," he replied.

"See you bright and early," I replied waving him off and walking out of the room.

"Guess who got their first undercover jobbbb!" I sang in Gages ear.

"Did you really?!" he asked, shock evident in his face.

"Yepp, I am going to bust this case open like a walnut." I replied smiling.

"I'll see ya tomorrow aye?"

"Bye Lee."

"Bye Gage."

I left the station soon after that and drove home to my apartment, it wasn't the best looking one, but it was the place I called home. I grabbed my keys and made my way inside, greeting the doorman in the process. I entered the elevator and pressed for the 5th floor, as the elevator moved up my thoughts raced with what was going to happen tomorrow, I hoped I could do it.

With a loud ding the elevator doors opened and I stepped out walking towards the door, I unlocked it and walked inside welcoming the smell of home. I threw my bag and keys on the table and walked towards my living room, I flopped on the couch and turned on the TV, it was time for a Netflix marathon.

The next day..

I Arrived bright and early at the station, a weird feeling of excitement and fear washed over me as I walked into Captain Kurtis's office.

"Mornin cap!" I said walking into the room.

"Good morning Italy" he said, a soft smile evident on his face.

"Take a seat Agent Jones" he said, addressing me in a more formal way.

He slid over a file and encouraged me to look at it while he talked, my eyes skipped over the paperwork as I listened to him.

"From now on you are known as Amaya King, you are a twenty three year old woman from chicago, you moved here a few years back when your parents died in a terrible accident." he stopped for a moment and looked at me, "Sounds reasonable?" he asked.

"Yes" I replied.

"Good, we have provided you with a new ID, phone, and other documents. We have also provided you a new apartment, you will stay there until the mission is over. You may take anything there as long as it does not contain any of your personal information on it."

I nodded as he kept talking,

"You have an interview at the strip club at 7am thursday, so you have a couple days to get adjusted to your new place. Good luck Agent Jones, here is the key, if we need to contact you we will. And if you need us use this burn phone."

Captain Kurtis proceeded to hand me the burn phone and walked back to his desk.

"I won't let you down Cap." I replied holding the burn phone close to my chest. I was not going to disappoint him, this job was my life and i'd be damned if I messed it up.
