I just sat there...
I didn't know what to do...
Heck, there was nothing I could do...
I knew she was dead...there was no way she was alive anymore. The last flicker of love in her eyes had disappeared long ago, the ambulance was not herd yet...
Her last words? I can vaguely remember them now, but it was around a week ago.
Flashback:   All three of us were sat outside until dad went in to get something, that's when it started
"James, love? I need to tell you something" she said, her sickly sweet voice that was now ringing in my ears, "Mhhmm?" I ask, not bothering to look up from my ham sandwich, "I-I have Cancer.." she blurted out like it was nothing, my eyes widened and my heart started aching. "I k-know this m-may be a-a b-bit sudden and all, b-but you n-need to know" she finished. I was frozen in place. "James?" ..... "oh sweetie I know, I'm sorry you had to find out this way" she grasped hold of me, flinging her arms around me , clutching me in a tight embrace that I could still feel lingering on my skin.

"Look James, I love you ok ? I'll always be proud of you no matter what you do. I'll be by your side every step of the way.." her voice started getting weaker, then I heard a slump next to me. "MUM!" I scream , she'd collapsed on the floor, "DAD!DAD COME HERE NOW!" I screech as loud as I could, by now my face put Niagara Falls to shame......
but dad had left the house....
