"So what do you want to know today?" It was phrased as rudely as ever, but somewhere underneath a slight bit of excitement had surfaced. It lingered in the air between them, then dropped like a rock the next time Houji spoke.
"I'm not here to ask you questions today, Takizawa-kun."
"Then what is it you want?" Now there was suspicion. It was a scared voice, filled with awful memorises of a room just like this one.
"In a week CCG will conduct a raid against Aogiri's headquarters at Rushima island. If things take a turn for the worse I might never see you again. So I'm here to say my goodbyes."
"You're going to fight Tatara." It was said with the voice of someone who had just drawn a horrible, life changing conclusion.
"Yes."
"Don't! Don't do it!" Now there was panicked shouting to the backdrop of rustling chains and a clattering chair.
"You're going to die! Please, I've spent years at his side, he's ruthless. No one would survive that!" Takizawa pleaded.
"It's my duty as an investigator." Houji's tone was determined and unfaltering but considerably lower, barely a whisper now.
"You can't do this to me!" Takizawa shouted "After my family died I thought I was alone in the world but.. You are all I have! Please, please Houji.."
"You are mistaking your position Takizawa-kun. You should consider yourself nothing but a traitor. It is only a matter of time before your execution, you are in no position to tell me what to do."
A door slammed shut as frantic shouting and scrambling followed. Something heavy hit the wall, clawing and further screeches followed, decreasing in volume and distance until finally all you could hear was Houji's feet against the floor.
Then there was a heavy sight, followed by a "it shouldn't be this hard..."
Some more shuffling "I didn't turn this off yet?" Phrased as a question rather than a statement. The last thing you heard was a click and it shut off.
