Tara turns on the TV as she sat down on the couch. Manny her cat, had followed her carrying a toy in her mouth and placing it in Tara's lap. She switches between channels looking for something good to watch when the phone rings.
She gets up and walks over to the home phone. She thinks to herself "It's probably just one of those dumb phone scammers." Tara lifts the phone off of the panel and answers; 'Hello?'
There was a slight silence before anyone said something back. Tara repeats herself and waits for a reply. She guesses it's just an accident and goes to hang up until someone says with an eerily raspy, squeaky voice; "Don't hang up on me!" Tara puts the phone back up to her ear and repeats herself once more.
T: "Hello?"
?: "Hello Tara."
T: "Uh... Sorry, but who are you?"
?: "And why should I tell you that?"
T: "Because you're calling me on my home phone at 2 am?"
?: The unknown person giggles. "Tara, turn on your back porch light."
T: "Right... Okay?"
Tara, with her phone still up to her ear, walks timidly toward the door. She glances around herself, seeing nobody. Tara finally reaches the door and hesitantly presses the switch for the back porch. The lights swiftly flash on and sitting in a chair right in the middle of the porch were the two boys she had been sleeping with for the past few months. They were tied up and duct-taped across the mouth. Tara screeches into the phone, "LET THEM GO YOU FREAK, WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING?" The person on the other side giggled in excitement.
"Now, Tara. You see these two fine young men? Of course, you do. Kody and Anthony here have been your little boy toys for months now without knowing. Which do you choose to be your Ken, Barbie?"
Tara glances at both of them. Kody, screaming out to Tara. Anthony, on the other hand, is still seeming to be unconscious. Tara tugs at the door handle, its locked from the outside. She starts banging on the glass doors screaming into the phone, "LET THEM GO, PLEASE!" The unknown caller continues to giggle and replies, "Tick... Tock... Tara..."
She held the phone up to her mouth and looked back up at Kody and Anthony and says sorry. Tara closed her eyes and yells 'Kody' into the dusty phone.
The porch lights went out and what she had heard next was killing. She could hear the screeches of Anthony. Tara tugs even harder at the door handle and the porch lights turn back on. Kody was spilling blood from his mouth and Anthony's throat was slit. Tara drops the phone and tugs even harder at the door, finally unlocking it. She opens the door and runs to Kody. Tara's eyes were pouring with salty, sorry water. She tries to awaken him. Tara turned back toward the door to go get help. But, was greeted to a pleasant surprise.
The dressed in full black and masked had stabbed her right in the gut. "Sweet, slutty, Tara." He psychotically laughed, "You shouldn't have opened that door." To finish her up, they turned her around and slit her throat. They had hidden all three bodies in the bushes beside the porch, leaving a blood trail from the porch.
