*KITTIE POV*

We both end up laughing as the Arizona can fizzes up, spilling over the top and running down my hand until it splashes onto the concrete. I shake my hand off, causing the droplets to hit both of us.

"Okay, let's just put this down." Sam laughs, taking the can from me and setting it on the ground.

"My hand is already getting sticky." I admit  as I feel the thin layer of liquid drying up. I clench and unclench my fist, feeling the tightness growing.

"Here." He draws out a napkin from the Chipotle bag. Sam takes my hand in both of his, cleaning up the mess. My hand rests on his lap as he does so.

"Hey, Sam?" I speak up, not too loudly, so he isn't disturbed.

"Yeah?" He asks as he continues with the task at hand. I watch the muscles in his arm flex and relax as he completely removes the mess. His eyes meet mine for a moment. He pauses what he's doing for that one second and I can distinctly see the shades of brown and green in his eyes under the light of the carport. Despite the average scene he still seems unreal, like an illusion. I'm completely entranced by him for that small amount of time, forgetting that I was to say something. I glance back at the hotel lobby for a moment, trying to gather my thoughts. I know very well I won't be able to focus while looking at him.

"You're leaving tomorrow night, aren't you?" A large silence settles between us like an elephant in the room as he releases my hand. I reluctantly slip my hand back.

"Don't think about it." He shakes his head, tilting my chin so I'm looking up at him. "You can't enjoy the present if you're always worrying about the future." I want to fight him on it and ask why this is happening then. I want to argue against him, but he has me enchanted again and I simply nod. He has an odd way of making sense. I realize my pulse has quickened at his contact as he draws in nearer. The intoxication from being so close to him takes over my system and makes my heart flutter in odd rhythms. His nose lightly touches my mine as hand slips behind my neck. I close my eyes as he moves in. I can taste the spearmint on his lips as our mouths meet. I pull him closer.

The door opens. I'm still not to my senses as we break apart.

"You two are the biggest cheaters in hide and clap history." Jack G speaks as he and Athena step out of the hotel. A deep blush fills my cheeks and I can see Sam smiling from the corner of my eye.

"YOU WENT TO CHIPOTLE?" Athena exclaims as she notices the bag.

"Sam want to come inside," Jack nods towards the door. "give them some privacy?"

"Yeah." He rises from the ground, smirking at my flustered state before entering into the hotel.

"You kissed Sam!" She barely waits for the revolving door to turn.

"What?" I'm caught off guard by accusation, shaking my head at Athena.

"Yes, you did!" She insists. "You're all nice and calm! Plus, your lips are red!" I shush Athena, pressing my finger to my lips as I stand.

"Please, please quiet down." I beg, making sure no one was around to hear her.

"But it's okay." Her mood suddenly flips, a devilish smile tugging at her lips. "because I kissed Jacob!" She quietly yells. I slap her arm lightly.

"Don't scare me like that for nothing." I shake my head at her.

"Well, you seem to be returning to normal rather quickly." She scoffs. I motion for her to follow me inside and we head back up to the room, Jack and Sam nowhere to be seen.
