Personality | Merridew is generally very nice and caring and understanding, though sometimes he will lash out/space out and that may come off as rude, but honestly he just needs to think. A bit bookworm-ish, and strives to learn everything. He always seems to be (pardon the Hamilton reference) writing like he's running out of time. Given enough time and butterbeer, Merridew could probably write everyone's Potions essays. Not that he'd personally want to, but it's good for stress relief. He has a journal for every year since he was twelve, and updates it constantly.

Likes | Studying, writing, reading, Muggle classical rock, butterbeer, and thinking of death. He isn't suicidal, per say, but he is fascinated with the concept of death. His favorite subjects are Potions and Astronomy, but he likes to learn just about anything. He likes most sweet things - and by that I mean don't ever leave him unattended in Zonko's; he will stay there for hours and empty out the whole shop. Even though he's a pureblood, he is fascinated by Muggle items, particularly the record player and the telephone booth.
Dislikes | Anything pumpkin-related (he can't stand the smell). History of Magic and Divination, because he will absolutely never support a subject he failed. He doesn't trust most people, and only has a small group of friends that he confides in / complains to. Don't even mention anything remotely discriminating near him or he'll knock you out like a lightbulb, then come up with a highly convincing explanation as to why you're on the ground with a broken nose.
Strength(s) | Anyone who's met Merridew can tell you that when you're feeling down or depressed, Merridew will sit with you and listen to your ranting, than offer solutions. He excels in most subjects, and any teacher can tell you he is a stellar writer. Great with advanced spellwork, and can forgo verbal spells entirely. He is good at knowing when enough is enough.
Weakness(s) | Stress. If handed too many responsibilities at once, Merridew will space out or break something (which is mostly something made out of glass, be it window or ink pot). History of Magic, and Divination. He failed both one year and decided they weren't worth his time and dropped both. He looks like the kind of guy who desperately needs sleep, but refuses to take a fuckin' nap. He doesn't like to act first, choosing instead for others to take the lead. If he sees a cute boy, forget it; he's a blushing mess until they leave, than he waves it off and denies that it ever happened.
