"Renessa!", I yelled as the sun was glaring on my face, "Get over here! I need to teel you something fast."
She looked at me, said a few words to the person she was talking to, and started jogging my way. Wearing a red and white striped bathing suit with a plain white flannel and sun-kissed skin, she jokingly said, "What is so important?! Could'nt you see I was having a great conversation with that hot guy over there?" I laughed, "Whatever! I have better news for you... Well us."
We were enjoying our day at the beach. Australia is where we grew up and didn't know another way of living, and Renessa has always been my best friend since we were three years old. From the playgrounds, to ongoing years of high school, we were always there for each other. I have'nt told Renessa this, but within the past few years I've developed jealousy towards her. With long, light brown hair, a killer bombshell body, light green eyes and essentially a perfect face, she could have any guy she wants. And me, I'm just an an average seventeen year old. Even I dont see anything special. Renessa is more 'girly' than I am.
"Emily! Are you zoning out again?!", she laughed
I do this a lot. "No No! Haha. I called you over because Jai's cousin is having a beach party and wants to know if we want to come."
I met Jai in sixth grade. He sat next to me, and we both hated our teacher, Mrs. Dorozio. Every day we would joke about how we wished she would get hit by a bus, and then chuckle about it. Ever since then, we have remained close friends, and i have develpoed a crush on him. Rennesa always teases me saying that she thinks he likes me too, but i doubt it.
"Hmmm..." she thought.
I knew that both her and I wanted to go.
"I know you want to go. You can't fool me.
"Emily, you know me so well, it's crazy."
We both grabbed out bags and headed for the car.
"9032 Olive Street... Where is this place?" I questioned as I drove slowly.
We were in a nice area and it only took us about ten minutes to get there.
"There's olive street!" Renessa said excitedly.
We immediately found the address and the house was beautiful. Jai's family had always had a lot of money and apparently that included his cousins. I parked, and me and Renessa got out of the car. I felt nervous, and I knew why. I hadn't seen Jai in a while, and I knew he was already there because I saw his little grey Toyota parked in front of the house. There was and upstairs balcony with a beautiful view of the beach. A white porch rapped all around the house, and blue shutters; I knew it had to be nice inside too.
"Ok! Let's go!!" Renessa practailly skipped to the door and I followed. I could feel butterflies in my stomach and hear the beat of my heart. Why am I so nervous? I thought to myself. Okay... It's just Jai. Calm down.
We got to the door and I knocked. I could not believe who opened the door...
