"face it, it can't work between us," Kylie says, throwing her hands up in the air at the punk-dressed boy who stood in front of her, trying to explain.

"why not? It worked back then, it worked before Jenny came back." Luke stood in the room full of sparkly things, intimidating him in his spiked bracelet and leather jacket.

"Jenny was right! We are from different worlds!"

"that never stopped us before," Luke said, taking a step closer to her. "we can make it like it used to be, before all this drama screwed us over."

"no, we can't," kylie whispered, thinking of what a sight they must be. She, in her pink dress, in her posh, elite atmosphere. She, who was meant to be headed for an ivy league college someday. And then there he was, with his dreams of his band making it big. Always sporting something to pull off his bad boy look. And yet, he was the one that couldn't let go. Couldn't move on.

"you know what, Kylie? It's pretty obvious you want me to leave. And I will if that's what you want, but only if you can tell me that to my face, so I know it's not some idea planted into your head by Jenny."

How dare he insult Jenny, thought Kylie. She knew that Jenny only had her best intentions at heart. Sure, she could be impulsive, and judgmental, but you would be too if you grew up in an orphanage for 14 years before being adopted by a couple millionaires. Jenny knew how lucky she had it, she wanted to make the best of it.

"I do." Kylie muttered.

"that's not good enough. I want you to tell me to my face, that you don't want me here," Luke said, stepping closer to Kylie until he could smell her watermelon smelling breath.

"I.. I don-don't want.." Kylie was cut off by Luke's lips crashing against hers.

He pulled away, quickly, realizing what he had done.

"tell me you didn't want that."

"just please, go away." Kylie said, while looking at the floor and fidgeting with one of her curls.

Luke stomped off, away from her. Away from all the craziness. And just for good measure, he slammed the door on his way out.

Kylie sat down on her fluffy chair she had imported from Spain. Her tears weren't huge, gasping sobs, like she expected. But instead, slow, silent teardrops. She could feel the pain selling up over what she just did. But it was for the better.

Kylie heard a tiptoe of someone entering the room.

"now that wasn't so bad, now was it sweatheart," asked Kylie's mom, putting a hand out to rub her back.

"whatever. Its what you wanted, and you always get what you want, don't you?" the bitterness in her voice was subtle, but still harsh.

"Kylie, I just don't want you ending up like I did the first time."

"of course," Kylie said, her heart feeling as if it had ripped in two. Even if Luke had been her polar opposite, he was also her first love. And nothing. No stupid story of her moms first marriage, no bantering from her best friend, nothing could change that.
