                                              Chapter 1- What Once Was
                          "Why didn't you tell me sooner?" Grace said in a small whisper, her head dripping to the floor.
                          " I-I-wish I could stay, with you, here, but no. Its impossible." Dan said loading boxes into the car. 

                          "Please just, for me." Grace whimpered, clearly disappointed. 
                          "Dan, time to go!" Dan's Mum said from the front seat of the car.
                          "I'm coming! I'm coming..." He said trailing off.
                          "Goodbye Grace, I love you." Both Grace and Dan hugged for a good amount of time, but would never be long enough. 
                          Dan slowly trudged to the car, never breaking eye contact with Grace. 
                          "I'll never forget you." He said, walking backwards. 
                          Grace stood, a face full of emotion. Dan got into the car, and they slowly made there way off of the gravel driveway. Suddenly, Dan turned around to see the saddest face he will ever see. Grace stood, hands by her side, a blank face. Grace let the tears force there way out of her eyes. As they drove, she got smaller and father away. Dan didn't want to let his parents know, but he cried. About the future that almost was. A life with Grace, that never could be. What was left behind was a pile of broken memories and Grace. The girl that would never be forgotten.
