Who he think he is, just because you is a business rich man don't give you no right to say that. Or friggin touch me. Like hands off! Ion know where your hands have been before dis.
I stalked off to the dressing room. Ain't nobody no longer in the mood for a show. I was pissed. Pissed off to the brink of angry. Like, you don't piss me off and tell me to go call someone. Like do I know them? Who are you to be telling me what to do?
Lay had come off the stage a long time ago and when she saw me head towards my vanity table, she stood up and waited by my table for me to sit down. I took a hairbrush and started brushing my hair hard, mumbling under my breath.
"Stupid man, who he think he is. Friggin calling me a stripper and then telling me what to do. Like who the heck is Haja? And why should I call her? Who are you, don't you know simple rules, like wha-"
Lay had turned me around, cutting off my ramblings, making me face her.
"You know who Haja is?"
I looked at her confused, like did she know the person, that arrogant piece of crap who had the nerve to touch me?
"Umm, no? Sum guy come to me and say that I should call them not before he called me a stripper! Who does he think he is, doing that! Why I outta -"
Lay shook my shoulders, cutting me off yet again before continuing.
"But ain't that what we are?" She saw me coming to protest and shook her head, causing me to stop. "Listen, don't call Haja. She wants us out of a job and makes us do stuff that we don't know of."
"What things? You still haven't explained who she is and why that man came up to me."
"What man? Oh no, you've been caught. Crap, crap, crap. You are in trouble gurl. She's found you, I think it's cause of me, I'm not sure why she wants you though, I think its cause of me, I'm real sorry, its all my fault."
"Gurl, calm down, its not yo fault. Who. Is Haja? And how is it your fault? And don't go into a panic attack."
Lay looked at me sadly, before releasing my shoulders from her grip.
"She's a business woman, who's ruthless and cold. She doesn't stop until she gets what she wants. And at the moment, she wants you."
I studied Lays face. Lol, study. I don't even go there, school wasn't even in my mind at the moment. I just wanted to know what Lay was hiding from me. She was the closest one that I could trust and I knew her better than anyone. I knew when she was hiding something.
"Lay....."
She looked at me innocently. Don't try that face wit me, I know you betta than anyone in this. building. Don't try that jack wit me.
"What are you hiding from me about her? If she's found me, I might as well know about her."
She sighed before walking over to her dressing room. I followed her, not wanting to miss her reply.
"She's a drug dealer.A good one at fact. She's the reason I'm in this business. I can't go anywhere else just in case she finds me. The only reason that prolly makes sense in my head is because she wants you to sell for her and she sent her best man to check if you're good. If the man thinks you're good for it, he'll talk to you. If he doesn't, that means you're not up for it and he'll return to Haja and tell her to find another person."
"Does she ever meet you? Like talk to you."
"No, unless you're special. That means she'll send her boys to come get you, and get a car while she sits and waits for you. That's only if."
She quickly turned around to hide the tears that were coming down. She prolly thought I couldn't see them. I never hug people. No matter the circumstances. But she was different. I never hug her before. But this place that we were stuck in was different.
"How do you know this, Lay? Has she hurt you?"
"She took me when I was 4. She was the one who killed my parents. She blew up the house while she took me away. She picked me up, talked to me in the car. Said she doesn't do this with the others for protocol reasons, said I was special. Now I'm scared she's coming for you."
"I don't wanna leave you by yourself. Should I hide or - "
A knock came on the door and then a voice.
"Mayja, someone hear to see you. They're not asking for a dance they wanna speak to you."
Lay looked scared as she turned to me.
"You have to leave now! Go through the back door. Then run. Don't worry bout me. I know a way. Just find a place where you can stay for a few months."
She nodded to me before I left her standing there and ran. The back door was heavy set and had a steel bar which I had to push. Boy was it heavy! It can with no trouble opening, which was, at that moment suspicious but I didn't think nothing of it until I felt two big hands wrap around my waist and hoist me up into the air.
"Ayyy!!! Bruhhh no touchie, I already told you. I'm not giving you a dance!! Security!!"
I kicked and screamed and fought in the mans arms until he turned me around to face him.
"You again."
He just smiled, a really creepy smile that had some undercurrent to it. It gave me the shivers.
"Get in the car."
By then, I had stopped struggling and he threw me into the car. I was about to slap him when the door closed and a voice was sounded from behind me.
"I see you got my name."
