The Date - Part 1

Shannon hands me a (f/c) sparkly dress over the top of the changing room door.

"Shannon, what am I supposed to do with this?" I hold it up against my body and look in the mirror. "Where am I supposed to wear this?"

"It would look so good on you. I know (f/c) is your favorite color, (y/n). You could wear it out on dates or to parties."

I scoff and try to throw it back over but he stops it. "Ugh, Shannon. I don't go on dates and I don't go to parties."

"Just try it on." I groan and unzip the back of the dress and slip it on. It fits perfectly and it's gorgeous. "Walk out and show me."

I open the door. He smiles and raises his eyebrows. "Ooh girl. You look good."

I punch him on the arm. "I don't need this dress. Why did you even pick this out for me?"

He puts his hands up defensively. I know he is about to drop a bomb on me. I raise my eyebrow and cross my arms.

"I may have set you up on a date with my brother," he says with a little smirk. I feel my face heat up. I punch him.

"Shannon..."

"I'm not sorry at all. Everyone knows you like him, (y/n). You're welcome." He smiles at me knowingly. "Plus, it won't be just you and him. I asked Lexi if she would like to go on a double date."

I sigh loudly and look at myself in the mirror again. Shannon watches me. "I really can't believe you did that. I'm going to be so embarrassed and nervous. You know I'm not pretty enough for your brother." I look at my features in the mirror. I'm not a super model, just an average looking girl. My (h/l) (h/c) hair  seems dull. My (e/c) eyes don't shine.

Shannon wraps an arm around my shoulder. "Can you stop calling yourself ugly all of the time. You're beautiful. Gorgeous even. I don't like it when you put yourself down." I smile a little and throw my arm around his waist. "You're getting that dress. Let's go."

I go in the changing room and take the dress off and put on my own clothes. Shannon takes it from me. We go up to the cash register. I pull out my wallet to pay, but Shannon has already given his card to the girl. I roll my eyes. He never lets me pay for anything.

After paying, he hands me the bag with the dress in it. We race each other out of the mall. I almost biff it in my Crocs while trying to run down a set of stairs. Shannon laughs at me. We get to his cute, little car and get in. I throw the bag in the back seat.

"So... When is the date and where is it?" I ask, watching as Shannon pulls the car out of the parking lot.

He looks at me for a second and replies,"Well, the date will be in a few hours. I can't tell you where we are going though. That part is a suprise." A cheeky grin graces his face.

"Shannon tell me. You know I hate suprises. Especially when it comes to dates."

"Nope. I can't tell you. I promised Jared. Plus, Lexi doesn't know either."

I sigh loudly, looking out the window as we drive past other cars. "Is there anything you can tell me about the date?"

"Well, we do have to dress up a bit. We are going to a classy resturant. Also Jared will be picking you up at 6. I'll be picking up Lexi from her apartment then."

I turn my whole body to look at him. Anxiety courses through my blood. "Are you kidding me?" My eyes search his face.

There is a small smile upon his lips. "No."

"I'm going to be so awkward." I bury my face in my hands.

"Don't worry. I'll help you get ready. You'll be fine."
