I was confused, I couldn't find Rumor anywhere. She wasn't in her cage not was she in the house. I've been looking for hours, leaving my home a pigs sty. Just as I about to give up hope I heard a shrill scream filled with terror. Running out of the house I went over to Ms. Hangles right as she used her gardening trowel to smash Rumor's head in. I wished I could say that I didn't scream, but everyone could hear my sorrow. Ms. Hagles realizing what she had done began apologizing profusely as I cradled Rumor's body to my body.

"Eden, I'm so sorry. I did not know it was your snake 'till after... I killed it." Her words filled with sorrow.

"Ms. Hagels, I know you mean well but Rumor was not an 'it'," I say with rising anger.

Ms. Hagels looked visibly shocked and apologized even more. Though as turned away Ms. Hagel's expression turns cold.

"Good riddance, the snake didn't belong in my neighborhood anyway. Nobody even liked it. We only tolerated it 'cause Eden is such a sweetie." Her words full of hate.

"Ms. Hagels, that really is not something someone should say. Even if Rumor was a snake, she was a living being and deserved respect." I continue walking towards the house even as a hear her gasp.
