JASPER - A LAMENT

This was inspired, or more like was the fruit of my misery, when Jason Grace, of the Percy Jackson : Heroes of Olympus series, was killed. Honestly, I'd never been more furious over a character's death. If it was Percy in Jason's place, Riordan would have made it as moving and emotional as possible with a weeping Annabeth, flowers raining from the heavens, the seas churning with misery and the gods themselves assembling in his honour. But Jason sacrificed his life for his ex ( Yup, you read that right, Piper broke up with him before he died.) whom he still loved more than anything, saved a god ( Apollo in this case, he'd never been more cursed), saved the world ( again) and he ended up being stabbed twice, shot with arrows, trampled and stamped upon, covered in slime and stabbed again just for good measure.

According to me, canon ends with the Heroes of Olympus : Blood Of Olympus. Here's a lament from Jason to Piper as soon as he passes.

Oh wind of life blowing through the hills,

Washing the fire of longing guilt,

Drifting and splashing to water my hopes,

Giving life to the body that he had built.

But will you, as you run through the land,

Land of life and land of the dead,

Will you carry my sighs and my cries?

As I reach out to my home and my bed.

A life unfulfilled, ravaged and begone,

Living my life as I just lost one,

Oh Piper, Oh Piper, will your lyre cry,

To bring me back to life, as I die?

A bit erratic, I'll admit, but I wasn't in the best of moods to form coherent thoughts. Hope y'all like it!
