2. The Secret

Sydney's POV

I had just come out of dance class and met Amelia outside the gymnasium. She was on her phone, smiling widely at her phone. You see, Amelia was more of a "I don't need a guy in my life to be happy." kind of girl, so this was oddly strange.

"Who are you texting Mil?" I asked looking at her phone but she locked it.

"No one. I was just watching one of Cameron's new vines. It was hilarious." I nodded and we both walked out and to the shop. We were just having a pointless conversation about a douchebag ex when Amelia picked up a party hat. "I'm so getting these for the party tonight." she announced as we both laughed. We made our way back to her house and saw all of the happy birthday banners and stuff set out. I made my way home and went into my bedroom before getting changed into jeans, a white top and my magcon hoodie before running back over to Amelia's with her present in my hands. I let myself in and walked down to her room, as it was in the basement, to see her quickly shutting her laptop and going on her phone.

"Mil. Are you hiding something from me?" I asked making her look at me weirdly. "Amelia, tell me the truth. I'm fed up of this secrecy thing."

"I, um, I."

"Save it." I placed her present on her bed and walked out of her house. I was really trying to find a positive in this but the only one that I could think of was that it would allow me to get involved with another friend. But that was hardly a positive. Someone tapped me on my shoulder so I turned around and saw Rochelle, Amelia's mum. "Hey Chelle."

"What are you doing out here babe? Come inside."

"I will in a minute. I just need to pop over to mine again." She nodded and walked away as I walked home again. I walked into my room and took my iPod off charge before debating whether of not to go back. I then decided to check Vine quickly however Cameron hadn't posted a new Vine for 3 days and it wasn't even funny. My mind was made up until I got a text back Milly.

I made my way back to her house and saw her talking to her mum as her friends and cousins made small talk. Milly noticed me and ran over before hugging me saying sorry multiple times. I laughed and we pulled out of the hug and socialised for a while before everyone started to leave so Milly and I made our way to her basement bedroom. We were messing around, just being our normal selves when there was a knock on her door. I didn't bother to look as it was probably her mum.

"Happy Birthday babe." That voice was very familiar. I turned around and was greeted by the presence of Cameron Alexander Dallas standing in my best friend's bedroom, calling her babe.

"What are you doing here?" She whispered slightly, not knowing that I had noticed him.

"I wanted to see my girlfriend on her 18th birthday." GIRLFRIEND? I looked in shock and Amelia looked over to me.

"Sydney, I can explain." She stuttered slightly.

"This time you can save it. I'm done Amelia." I went to walk out when she stopped me.

"It's only a boyfriend Sydney."

"It's not just a boyfriend though is it Mil. Your living a double life! But not as fun as in Hannah Montana! You've canceled loads of our plans to hang out with Cameron when you could have just told me. I wouldn't have minded." I'm slightly fangirling right now though.

"I would have minded though Syd. You would have wanted to tag along with us. Then complain about third wheeling or not meeting the other boys. I've let you have everything Syd, I just wanted Cam to be mine for a while." I pushed her away and stormed to my house where I was greeted by a worried father.

"Hey dad." He hugged me as I cried into him. This actually sucked.

<<<<a month later>>>>

Amelia and I haven't spoke. She has gone to Magcon with Cameron and my father and I decided to move away. He still kept in contact with Rochelle though. She was like my mother for so many years, we couldn't just ignore her. After all, she had done nothing wrong. I had finally found a positive, I had moved away from a lot of my problems and was starting a great new life. I had also made a lot more new friends who liked me for me, not because I hung out with Amelia. Maddison was my closest friend. She was really cool. We walked to school together, chatting about magcon and sports. She did a lot of sports, like running, basketball and dance. That is how we met.

"Sydney, how long is it until your birthday now?" She asked. I was planning on having a few people over, no family. Well, my dad insisted on me inviting Rochelle so I did. She accepted and told me that Amelia wouldn't be coming.

"Um, 2 days now. Are you still ok to come over?"

"Of course!" SHe screamed slightly making me laugh. "I'm so fucking excited!" I laughed and we walked into our form and sat with our other friends.

Today is my birthday. Thankfully it's on a Saturday so I don't have to put up with school. Dad and I were setting everything up when there was a knock on the door. I ran to open it and was greeted by Rochelle.

"Happy birthday babe." She hugged me for a while before letting go ad going to see my dad. I was about to shut the door but I saw Maddie running down the path. She ran through the door and pulled me into the tighest hug ever which made me laugh. She handed me a box so I opened it and at the bottom was a ticket to go and see, MAGCON?!

"What the hell Maddie!" I screamed hugging her which made her laugh.

"WE'RE GOING TO MAGCON!"
