(third person P.O.V)
It was the end of the second quarter. Both teams agreed on a five minute break before the start of the second half of the game. The Generation of Miracles sat together on their bench trying to rest.
Aomine sat on the bench spinning a basketball on his finger. Kagami was sitting hunched over. Murasakibara was quiet like usual, snacking to fuel himself for the next two quarters. Kise was laying down on the floor with a wet towel draped over his face. Midorima was sitting calmly on the bench filing his nails. As for Akashi, he sat next to Midorima, eyes fixated, across the court, on the bluenette.
Kuroko had stood up from the bench and was talking with Karma. They both had smiles on their faces and were oddly calm. Karma was sitting down with her hands behind her head, while Kuroko had a hand placed on his hip.
Akashi watched Kuroko's every movement.
His eyes observed Kuroko, up and down, watching as the bluenette's eyes lit up from something funny Karma had said, how his lips turned up slightly to laugh.
He noticed how he moved his hands as he spoke, and the slight movement of Kuroko's hips as he adjusted his weight from side to side.It felt like ages since he's seen Kuroko and for four years he wanted so desperately to see Kuroko again. Now he's here in front of him and he can't even hold him like he used to. A sudden wave of sadness and greed washed over the redheaded emperor.
He missed spending time with Kuroko like the old days. He missed his laugh, his smile, his eyes, the sound of his voice, his tears. Everything. He missed everything about him. Most of all he missed playing with Kuroko. He still remembers the first game he ever played with the phantom.
He remembered how nervous the bluenette was and how he ended up tripping and getting a bloody nose the first few seconds of the game. Akashi chuckled at the memory.
"What's so funny Akashicchi?"
The red headed emperor simply sighed before replying,
"I was just thinking about our first match with Kuroko""Oh you mean when Tetsu tripped and ended up getting a bloody nose"
Akashi nodded fondly.
"Not that I care or anything, but Kuroko's skills were very impressive during that game. I had never seen anything like that before"
"Kuro-chin has always been impressive. His way of playing grew more interesting to watch"
"I remember my first time seeing Kuroko in action. He was the main reason we stood a chance against our upperclassmen during our first practice game with them"
"I've always enjoyed watching Kurokocchii play. He was always so relaxed under pressure and his style of basketball was able to defeat all of us"
"Well... almost all of us...."
This time Aomine had spoken. His words seemed to ruin the peaceful moment bringing back painful memories to everyone in the group, especially Akashi.
After hearing Aomine's words Akashi looked down at the floor, his hair hanging over his eyes, and his hands clasped together on his lap.The Kiseki no Sedai were silent. No one spoke a word unsure of what to say. Luckily they didn't have to.
"That was a mean thing to say Aomine-kun. You should apologize to Akashi-kun"
