DREAM
26 December 2018
I had a really weird dream last night.
It was the most detailed dream I have ever dreamt.
My mom stood by me in the shop. I looked around scanning for nothing in particular. From books to bags, the shop was filled with humble little things. All of them weren't screaming 'BUY ME' or 'I AM TOO EXPENSIVE FOR YOU PEASANT' or 'LOOK AT ME LOOK AT ME LOOOKKKKATTTMMEEE'. They were just sitting there in the low yellow dimlight not really waiting for anyone to look at them. It was just a small shop with little souvenirs. There was something enchanting and calm about this shop. It doesn't make you want. It doesn't make you greedy. It wasn't there to give your eyes pleasure. It was there for you to take only one thing that you'll treasure forever. I took a look around, skimming my hand on the wooden shelves as I walked deeper and deeper into the magical wonderland.
Then, something caught my eye.
It was just sitting on a rack. Being a little bit too colourful for the shop.
A pair of socks.
It was a purple and neon green camo socks. It was the most magical sock I've ever seen. The material was horrible and feels more like sand than anything. Yet in that moment as I stood there holding a sock, I know I have found the magic. The one thing that I'll treasure forever and ever. I looked for my mom, socks in hand, only to find her nowhere.
I looked again.
And again.
Then I saw my mom through the window walking away from the shop on a sidewalk with an old woman on her side. A wrinkly woman who she was talking with. The woman seems to be dragging my mom while laughing. I stared out of the window hoping she'll come and call me. But she left. Just like that.
Then, out of nowhere, my sister appeared.
"She've left so you can be more mature. You must go back home yourself. You must grow up," my sister whispered and handed me cash to buy my sock. Then she disappears.
I bought the sock but I was angry. How dare my mom left me like that. How can she leave me. I went back home but I didn't talk to her. I didn't talk to any of more family members. I didn't even stay in the house anymore. I just wandered on the street for days.
Somehow, this part arrives and I don't know how but oh well it's a dream.
My mother and my sister were talking to each other. They were worried.
'Let's give her a gift,' my sister suggested.
Back to me.
I was called by the same shop my mother left me in. The shop was transformed this time. Only half the shop was the same as before. The other half was filled with tons of Ben 10 toys. Two middle-aged man who I've never known in real life sat behind the wooden desk.
