Chapter Seven

"Bucky?" Alyanna breathes as she stares at the man with a solemn face. Her ribs gave that familiar tingling sensation as she looked at the man in front of her.

"Alyanna," he whispers, his eyes looking around frantically. His blue eyes stopped on her and they seemed to soften and dilate.

This took Alyanna by shock and surprise, where was the man killer that has tried to kill her multiple times? This man seemed so gentle...

The man with the metal arm stepped forward with his hands raised, causing Alyanna to instinctively draw her daggers. She stood in a defensive posture as her eyes fall into a glare.

"Stay where you are!" She orders him and he halts his movement.

"Alyanna please listen to me! You need to get out of here! This is a set up to kidnap you!" Bucky pleads with her.

She narrows her eyes. "Why should I trust you? You've been trying to kill me every time we meet!"

He lets out a frustrated sigh and looks down. "I know, but you have to understand that this isn't me! Steve can tell you the kind of person I am!"

"So you remember your old friend, then why have you been trying to kill us?" She questions with a raised eyebrow.

"I can't control my actions—I can't explain that right now! You and Steve need to get out of here before—."

He was suddenly cut off as he screamed and fell to the ground, grabbing at his neck as he looked to be convulsing.

This scared Alyanna as she jumps back, her eyes widening as Bucky falls in pain. It made her stomach drop at seeing him like this, but she didn't know what was going on!

"Bucky! What's wrong!" She asks frantically, her head snapping around for any possible danger.

He looks up at her with red strained eyes and drool escapes his lips as he bares his teeth. "Go!" He rasps, his metal hand reaching out to her.

Alyanna, stunned, turns on her heel and begins to run back towards where she left Steve.

But before she could round the corner, a figure steps in front of her. "Steve!" Alyanna cries out in relief at seeing her soulmate stand in front of her.

But something was off.

Using his shield, he knocked Alyanna away from him and she landed on the ground. Alyanna let's out a cry as her arm scapes painfully against the concrete.

She lifts her head up and looks at her torn suit and bleeding arm. "Can I just once get out of a story without being injured!?" She grumbles under her breath while standing to her feet.

She glares up at Captain America. "Nice to see you again Pepper," she sneers in annoyance.

Steve began to morph into the tall red headed woman who wore a skin tight black catsuit. And a fake metal shield. A smirk spreads across her face as she squares up with her old enemy.

"Agent Jones," Pepper mocks.

"Were you the one who left me that note? Are you Erik Ewing?" The dark hair girl questions.

"No my dear, that was all me," a voice says from behind her and she snaps her head to see the older man standing behind Bucky who now supported his usual cold and deadly face.

This must be the leader behind all of this and the reason Bucky is under some kind control, Alyanna concludes in her head.

She pulls out her dagger, and places her back against the wall so she could see where Pepper and Erik were standing. She was way out numbered, and that last thing she needed was for—
