Saria's Story

Chapter 2

                                                     CHAPTER 2

We were there in about 30 minutes. Link had his horse, Epona, with him and was walking beside me, holding to Epona’s reins. “There it is” I said. I could see the gates not far in the distance. We walked a couple more minutes and then through the gates. Link yelled out “Malon!” no answer. Then he yelled out”Talon!” no reply. “Maybe there out?” I said. “I guess so.”

                 I walked over to one of the horses grazing and started to pet him. “ There she is!” called Link. I turned to see Malon running to them. Usually when we come here she smiles , but this time she wasn’t smiling. “what is it Malon?” I asked her. “They came! Ganandorfs men came! They took my father and asked him where I was, but he told them he didn’t know.” Tears started to roll down her face” They put him In a cage and took him! They took him over the hill, but I didn’t try to save him! What a terrible daughter I am!” “ slow down, Malon.”Link said. “ but we don’t have much time! There coming now! There coming for me! They are coming over the hill! We have to get out of here!” she screamed. By now she was crying, tear after tear rolling down her face. “We have to hide until they leave, its too late to go now, but I have a place we could hide.” She started running towards her house. I heard Gananondorfs people coming.”In here!”” whispered Malon.

                We followed her through a door, down some stairs and we came to a box. She popped the lid off of it and it open for us. I jumped in first and went down the ladder. Link after me and then Malon. She put the lid back on and climbed down.  I could feel the men searching around. Breaking things. Rummaging through things, full of paper, books and such. In the room were 4 chairs. I sat in one, Malon in the one one across from me. In the time we were there I looked around the room. One wall had paintings of fruit baskets. Others just had plain and ripped walls. Nails sticking out. “I think there gone” whispered Link. “ I’ll check”. He tiptoed over to the ladder and starts to climb up. In a minute he comes back down and gestures us to come with him.  

                 We climb out and walk outside after checking through the windows. I went out first. Then Link, and then Malon. “ we have to get to Hyrule Castle” I say. “ Grab a horse.” Malon says as she runs towards her horse. I go over to one and start to pet her. Behind me I can hear Link getting on to Epona. I get onto mine , and Malon, hers.

                We leave Lon Lon Ranch, and ride our horses as fast as we can across the field to Hyrule. We hear a screech. I turn around to see Malon getting pulled off her horse, that can not be mistaken as Ganandorfs men. “ go! Tell Zelda! Go!” After that she was put in a cage and towed over the hill. I sit there on my horse, awestruck. I turn my horse around and head off towards the castle.
