Immediately after the battle with Caster's monster, Saber, Alia, and Irisviel followed Lancer back to his base so Saber and Lancer could work things out as two knights. Alia was worried after the display of power from Saber she knew Lancer didn't stand much of a chance but this was war, anything can happen. Alia rested her helmet on her bike, with a solemn expression on her face. Alia could feel small amounts of a magical barrier but it wasn't very strong, because it wasn't properly maintained. Lancer was in front of the vehicles in a couple seconds.
"I did not expect to see you here Saber, Alia," Lancer said, as Saber and Iri got out of the car.
"Well my... my ally found this place and informed me. They said that this was your location," Alia was happy that Saber decided to keep it a secret that Irisviel was not her master.
"You would not happen to know where my master's betrothed is would you, Saber? My master has not heard from her," Lancer asked, Saber, turned to look at Irisviel and Aliasviel, Iri shrugged and Alia shook her head no.
"No, I do not. What of it Lancer?" Saber said.
"Never mind. Forget it. In any event, are you certain about this Saber? You did not come to engage in idle chit-chat I'm sure. After employing that technique against Caster, you must be completely exhausted," Lancer said.
"No more so than the other servants. None will be fighting further tonight. They will focus on defense. That is why we needn't worry about being interrupted. Dawn nears, but I believe that this may be the best night to finish our battle. What say you, Lancer?" Saber changed into her battle gear.
"Brave Saber. The only thing that still grants my heart peace is your honor and your pure fighting spirit," Lancer said, Saber nodded and she drew her sword, they walked up to each other slowly and touched blades. Then when their weapons made a 'clink' sound the battle was in full swing. They jumped closer to each other their blades grinding on one another. Saber went back as Lancer pushed her away, she ran forward and struck his lance, he blocked it and aimed for Saber's torso, she blocked the attack and spun around. Saber gave Lancer no time to recover as she attacked once more, he blocked then turned to intercept her second strike witch was meant for his head. Saber was still weak from when she used her noble phantasm to defeat Caster's monster so her attacks were weak and she was a bit slower than usual. Saber's sword stroke was blocked by Lancer again, he turned so that his lance and her sword were crossed, his lance on her side, her sword on his side, that's when Lancer noticed Saber was only pretending to use her left hand.
"Saber why? You will not use your left hand?" Lancer asked the battle ceased for a couple seconds so the two could back away from each other.
"Don't get the wrong idea Lancer. If I use my left hand here the shame is certain to dull my blade. Against your powerful spear that would be fatal," Saber explained.
"Saber..." Lancer trailed off sighing.
"Therefor Diarmuid, this is my best strategy, the path that will allow me to defeat you," Saber said, Diarmuid chuckled, putting a hand on his chin.
"Pride rests in the blade of chivalry! Saber, I am glad that I was given the opportunity to meet you," Diarmuid said twirling his spear expertly around him. "I am the first spear of Fianna, Diarmuid Ua Duibhne. I come for you!" Diarmuid smiled, Alia was happy he was enjoying the battle, even though the outcome of the battle would sadden her either way.
"Splendid! I, Arturia Pendragon, King of Britain, accept your challenge. Come then!" Saber shouted charging. Their blades clashed over and over again their movements were quick and precise Alia almost missed part of the battle because the two servants were so fast. The two knights had smiles on their faces through the battle, there were a couple close calls where Alia thought one of the two would surely be dead but the opposing servant would always surprise her. Saber stepped on Lancers weapon and went in to cut his head off but he stopped her sword with his wrist, then kicked Sabers feet, but she just jumped out of the way. The two hero's seemed to move in slow motion their backs were facing each other, they turned quickly weapons clashing, it sent up a powerful gust of wind, blowing Alia and her mother's hair into their faces. Lancer's blade was positioned at Saber's throat, and Alia though it might be the end of Saber, but Saber's blade was also positioned at Lancer's throat. They backed away from each other and re-positioned themselves so that they were facing each other, both in their respective battle stances. Alia covered her eyes a Lancer stabbed his lance through his heart, Diarmuid was also surprised meaning this had to be the work of a command spell, but Alia didn't have the gem that would cancel a command spell with her. All the two knights wanted was a fair fight, they were having fun, but something always had to get in the way right? Diarmuid coughed up blood, that seemed to be all there was, blood, blood, blood! Alia was so sick of it all, why couldn't she have a normal life, she thought, but then discarded the thought, if she had a normal life she wouldn't have anything she had now. Alia ran to Diarmuid's falling form and caught him, then she slowly lowered him down to the ground where his head rested in her lap. Silent tears rolled down her face, she hovered her head over Diarmuid's head muttering comforting things, she dug her fingernails into her palm to try and stop them from shaking. Diarmuid took her hands in his he smiled sadly, then turned his attention to the man who ordered him to commit suicide.
