"Yes sir, I apologise, sir,"
Lalisa Manoban sunk into a low bow.
'Great,' She thought bitterly, 'I haven't even been here a week, and I get in trouble.'
Truthfully, the reason the limited edition signed copies of some dumb romance book was soaked with Coke was that Ji-woo — that bitch had it out for Lisa ever since she set foot in the bookstore — had spilt (tipped, in Lisa's opinion) before smirking and exiting the bookstore, abandoning her shift for 'an unexpected plan'.
What made it worse was the sheer discrimination from their boss. The man didn't even blink when Ji-woo left the building — probably going to some club with her 'boyfriend' — but he had a blown a fuse when Ji-woo's lackey Ji-a blamed the soaked books on Lisa.
Just because she was from Thailand.
So what if she came from Thailand? She spoke Korean quite fluently, she had studied in Korea for a while, and she was an upstanding citizen. But that didn't stop people picking on her, blaming things on her, overreacting.
Lalisa Manoban believed with all her heart that every single person is Seoul hated her. Even if they had never seen her.
"Sir, Manoban Lalisa-ssi didn't do it,"
Lisa blinked. Who is that? Lisa had never seen the person in her life.
"Jisoo-ssi, were you there when she soaked the books? If not, don't speak up,"
"But sir, Lalisa-ssi was standing on the other side of the room when Ji-woo-ssi spilt the Cola,"
Lisa opening gaped at the girl, who was she and where had she been all her Korean life.
"Ji-woo? Kim Jisoo, I'm sure you are mistaken," The man glared, "You see, it was Lalisa who spilt the drink on the books,"
"Why don't you just check the surveillance footage?" Lisa blurted.
Aghast, she slapped her hands onto her mouth. The girl and her boss both blinked at her.
"That's a good idea," The girl — Kim Jisoo — admitted, turning to her boss, "What do you think, there's no way we can alter video footage,"
Lisa wanted to cry happy tears; someone had listened to her, someone agrees with her, someone is helping her keep her job!
"That is a good point," The well-kept man muttered, turning to the security room.
"Thank you so much," Lisa blurted as soon as the man left.
Kim Jisoo blinked and laughed. She had a pretty laugh, Lisa decided, fitting for a beautiful person.
"Oh no, it's nothing, I've been coming to this bookstore for a while, your boss respects me as a loyal customer," She waved the 'thank you' s away.
