Rainbow dash and Soarin's special encounter

Magical evening.

Soarin swished down from the sky in a gust of grey smoke to lay on a small cloud close to the ground.

Spitfire insisted they train in Ponyville. Which he didn't mind one bit. 1. Sugarcube corner had delicious pie! 2. the mare he really likes lives here. He prayed she'd find them, she was a big fan.

Spitfire and Fleetfoot untidily pounced on his cloud, potentially shaking him off, he held his grip. "C'mon Soarin!! We have to keep pushing ourselves!!" The two yelled at the same time. "Jinx..." He muttered. The two rolled their eyes and flashed through the sky.

Thunder (one of the Wonderbolt's) brushed through the sky and landed on Soarin's cloud. "What's got ya down?" Thunder asked comfortingly. "Just us guys can talk." He added.

"If I tell you ... you can't tell Spitfire and Fleetfoot. Okay?" "I promise I won't tell, just squeal!" Thunder said.

"I... ...like a..Ponyville girl." he stammered. "Umm. Alright. Well which one?" Thunder asked. This wasn't private anymore. "R-Rainbow dash." he finally confessed after a minute of silence. "Well. There could be a chance there!! Dude, she loves the Wonderbolt's, and whenever we're in town she's here!!!" "She's not here right now!" Soarin insisted. "Than who's that?" Thunder asked, pointing towards Spitfire and Fleetfoot, right beside them was Rainbow dash, making rainbows in the sky so perfectly.

"Oh man, when did she get here?" Soarin asked nervously. "Make your move." Thunder whispered. Soarin nodded off and flushed through the powdered sky.

Rainbow dash slowed behind Spitfire and Fleetfoot, to catch up with Soarin, who flustered at the sight of her.

"Soarin? Are you alright? You seem. Dizzy." Rainbow asked him "Oh...I'm, just, tired." He thought fast. "Uh well then do you wanna fly down to Sugarcube corner with me?" Dash asked.

"Not sure if they'd let me. But I'd love some pie. Sure I'll go." Soarin concluded. "Alright!" Rainbow dash said relaxed. The two walked slowly through Ponyville.

Soarin stopped at a house to pull a rose. For Rainbow dash. "Ouch!!!" Soarin hollered in pain. "What's wrong?" Rainbow asked him. "Mmmphh!" Soarin tried to speak, but a thorn had caught his lip.

Rainbow dash finally figured it out. She giggled with pleasure. "S-s-Soarin!!! -a r-o-se thorn!!" she said between giggles. At once she moved towards Soarin and gently plucked the thorn. With her teeth.

Soarin couldn't control himself from blushing. "Um... it's for you Rainbow.." he said, leaning his head forward to give her the rose. Rainbow dash started to blush. "Soarin. Do you like. me?" Rainbow asked hesitantly. "Umm. I-I-I-I-" Soarin had no words. "Soarin. It's AWESOME if you do!! I...ah kinda. like you too." Rainbow said coolly.

After at least five minutes of them side by side walking to Sugarcube corner, Dash with her rose in her mouth. Soarin finally found the guts to speak. "Say.. Rainbow dash are you busy tonight?" Soarin shook as he said this.

"Uh, nah, nah! No. Not at all! Heh, heh!!" Rainbow dash said fast, she must of known what'd come next.

"Well. Do, you-you wanna go on a date with me tonight?" Soarin asked. He started to sweat.

They were a block away from Sugarcube corner now. "Soarin. That'd be my first REAL date. So...um. Yea!!!!!!!" Dash replied. Obviously trying to conceal from squealing.

"Oh but Rainbow dash, you can't tell the other Wonderbolts!!" He shouted. "Why not?"

"B-because they'd get angry that I have another interest, that isn't the fly team." Soarin said. "Er okay."

They stepped into Sugarcube corner, which was actually quite empty. Pinkie pie bounced from the kitchen to the bakery, were the two looked over what they'd get. "Hiya Dashie!!" Pinkie said in her pitchy voice. "Hiya Wonderbolt!!" She added.

"Pink, actually his name is Soarin.'' Rainbow corrected her. "Okie Dokie Lokie!!!" Pinkie pie nodded.

''Well, what would you two like?" Pinkie asked proudly. ''Pinkie I wanna have a ... a ... bear claw." Rainbow dash said. "Howa bout you Soar'?" Pinkie asked, placing a bear claw in a doggie-bag. "I want a large apple pie!!" Soarin rushed.

The two sat at a table inside Sugarcube corner and ate their treats. "Is the date tonight?" Rainbow asked.

"Yeah, it kinda has to be tonight, I leave to go back to Canterlot tomorrow night."

"OH." Rainbow dash said, looking down at her hoof. "See you tonight!!" they both called as they separated ways from Sugarcube corner.

Rainbow dash decided not to tell any pony yet. Maybe if it worked out. She just didn't want them pressuring her.

For the rest of the day she sat on a cloud and replayed all of the date outcomes that could happen. Many were great. Others were romantic. Some were cool. And a few were utterly embarrassing and frightening.

She realized she only had twenty minutes until her date. She zoomed off her cloud and began to rush through clouds.

Soarin walked to Ponyville's library, trying to avoid Rainbow dash as best as he could until the date. His hooves were slick with sweat.

He opened the library door and stepped in. He had heard all about Princess Twilight Sparkle. He had to find her!

"Mis-miss Princess Twilight Sparkle!!" he called. The library was dark, one candle lit the room. "YES!!!!" twilight called back. He waited for her to come into the room. She cantered in, stretching out her wings. A purple dragon followed. He didn't have time to ask.

"Can I ask of a favor of you?" he whispered.

"Sure!!" she and the dragon both said, peppy.

"Will you...you know light the night sky tonight?" he asked.

"Like how?" Twilight asked. "Maybe have shooting stars ignite the sky?" Twilight added happily. "Or-"

"No, no, no!! That first one is perfect!!!" He shouted happily.

"And can I ask you why?" Twilight questioned. "Oh...just for a special celebration of-our latest win." he lied. It was for Rainbow dash.

"I'll do it!!!" Twilight said smiling. After that she began to pull astronomy books off her shelf and flutter through them.

Soarin sat in the lightly wooded forest he discussed with Dash. He had gotten a small table, a candle, and some food: apples, ham sandwiches and chocolate cake from all around town.

He waited for her, the sun started to set, the sky was dark blue. The candle light glared.

If she wasn't there in five minutes the star shower would start without her. Her felt a rush of wind as Rainbow dash pounded to the ground and sat down at the chair across from him.

"Hey Soarin!" Rainbow dash greeted. "Hi Dash!" He kindled warmly.

The more they chat, no matter what it was about, he still liked her. Four minutes had passed and stars began to gently twinkle down from the sky. So gracefully.

"Dash, they're for you." he said. "My special surprise for ya!" he blushed. So did she.

"Soarin...that's terrific!!!! For me?''

Rainbow seemed so impressed.

"Yep! You. Just you!" he said.

The whole night was amazing. They both agreed. That talked about so many things!

"Rainbow dash, I have to go." he said once it had gotten extremely dark. "I'd walk you home. But I have to go like RIGHT NOW!!!"

"Awww!!!!!" Rainbow dash whinnied angrily. "Well this has been magical." he neighed. "I'll see you again soon Rainbow dash?" he asked.

"Of course!!" Rainbow dash agreed.

He leaned over and hugged her.

Then shot from the sky and disappeared.

Dash wished he hadn't left. It was INDEED magical.
