~ Prologue~

It's a beautiful summer's day. The sun is shining, the birds are singing and the children are playing in the park, carefully watched over by their parents. The day is spent outside with your friends; doing everything you can to get out of doing your summer-homework, your family; playing together and then having a picnic in the grass, or with your other half; just spending time together and sharing kisses and words of love.

This is how most of the population in Amity Park spent their day, and when the sun started to set they went to their respective homes and had dinner with their families. Unfortunately not everyone was as lucky...

As the sun sank down the horizon, a lone figure could be seen walking down the road.

Or rather, would have been seen if anyone had been out right then. If someone had seen this figure maybe they would have stopped him and asked if he needed help, or medical attention, but no such thing happened and the figure continued to limp heavily along the steet and out of town.

Danny Fenton, also known as Danny Phantom, was having the worst day of his life. He is sixteen years old, as of a few days ago, and up until now his life had been pretty good. If you don't count the accident in his parents' lab, making him half ghost of all things. Thus starting an eventful couple of teenage years filled with fighting, drama and keeping it all secret from his own parents, who would love to do nothing else than catch and/or kill every ghost in existence.

All this was bearable with his friends by his side. Tucker and Sam, without them he would have probably been dead as long time ago.

'Much good that did... ' He thought bitterly as he continued his painful treak along the road, heading for the big mansion on the hill out on the middle of the woods. 'Why does he have to live so far away?' he lamented 'I just want to get this over with!'

As he finally had the mansion in his field of vision, he thought back again on how it suddenly ended up like this.

His birthday had been like any other; spending time with his family and his friends, doing his favorite things and eating what he wished for, plus the big cake with sixteen candles, then going to bed full, happy and with a few new things.

It was on the morning after everything went to hell...

He woke up in the morning feeling sore, nothing bad, he'd had much worse, but enough to make it feel weird and uncomfortable. His hair was longer, he could feel it against his shoulders when he sat up, and it could have been a trick of light but he could have sworn it looked white!

He quickly, but carefully, made his way to the fullbody mirror on the back on the closet-door, and his fear was confirmed; he had white hair, but not all of it only the right half. Not only that, his eyes where glowing green and his body has gotten slim and lithe, instead of the more muscular body he had before, thanks to all of the fighting he had been doing the last two years.

He was stunned, confused and a little scared. It looked like his human side and ghost side had somehow fused during the night, and that would be very hard to hide from his parents...

He decided to get dressed, sneak out before anyone saw him and discuss this with his friends, they will know what to do.

How was he to know that it would end up like this?

He was brought out of his thoughts when he arrived at the huge metal gate in front of the mansion. Once upon a time, when he first set his eyes on the big mansion and the big gate, he thought that the man was compensating for something.

That's far from what's on his mind right now.

He rang the bell and waited.

"Hello?" said the voice in the receiver, "who's there?"

Danny gritted his teeth against the pain that was making itself known again and rasped out as clearly as possible with his raw throat, "It's Danny."

"Daniel?!" the voice sounded disbelieving and surprised, "What are you doing here?"

He didn't have the energy nor the paintolerance to have this conversation right now!

"Can I come in?" He asked instead, his voice steadily disappearing as he speaks.

"Eh... Sure! Just one second... " He could hear murmur on the other end and suddenly realised who else was there. He smiled weakly, half happily and half relieved. This was even better.

The gate buzzed and opened, the metal making an uncomfortable scraping-noise against the stone pavern. The pain was becoming unbearable, but he sucked it up and walked at steadily as he could towards the door that was opening, letting out the owner of the mansion. Said owner stopped in shock the moment he saw Danny and called out to the other person in the mansion for help, ran towards him and caught him just as the pain became to much and he fell.

Just before unconsciousness claimed him he felt himself being lowered to the ground gently and saw two shadows above him, a big, broad shouldered one and a tall and slim one. He forced himself to stay conscious long enough for him to whisper out the, hopefully, last words he would ever say.

"Please kill me."

Then his world went black...

---~---

Vlad Masters looked up at his lover from were he was kneeling beside Danny's unconscious body with surprise and horror clearly written over his face, his lover looked back with a look of surprise and curiosity.

Of all the things they expected when Daniel Fenton suddenly rings the doorbell late in the evening, this was not it! And then he expects them to just kill him without an explanation? Nuh-uh, not gonna happen!

He heaved a deep sigh and stood up, "Skulker, can you carry him inside? Carefully please." He asked his much stronger lover, who nodded with an agreeing noise and bent down to pick up the injured teen.

Said teen let out a painted noise at the move but stayed deeply unconscious.

"Whoever did this did a good number on the kid," the cyborg said with a conflicted look on his face, "I don't know if I should congratulate them or kill them... "

Vlad stopped where he was walking a few meters ahead.

Skulker stopped as well and had to strain his ears to hear what his lover whispered out, "I have a pretty good guess on who did this to him... ", he turned around and Skulker was surprised at the amount of rage he could see on his lovers face.

"... and when I get my hands on them, congratulating them is the last thing I will do!" He practically snarled out and turned back around and stomped of to the room he had decided to place the injured teen in.

Skulker stood in place a few more moments, confused to why Vlad Masters would be so angry on the behalf of Danny Fantom of all people. The cyborg knew that his lover never really wanted him dead, after all it's hard to have a dead apprentice (not taking to account that they are ghosts and technically already dead...), but to actually defend the welp like that?

He looked down and took a better look at the teen in his arms, took note of his changed features, and slowly came to the same conclusion his lover had probably reached.

A sudden rage filled him when the realization came and he started walking again so that he, as quickly as possible, could get the kid medical attention and so that he would have the hands free to destroy something.

Oh, their death would be slow and painful, he would make sure of that...
