"Ma!!" I shouted through the door. I was hand washing the clothes and Christopher decided to have a little fun in the soapy water.
I smoothed back a couple fly away hairs from my face. It was 102 degrees in the summer.
"Yes hun??" Shouted my mother from the barn. I ran into the barn and sat beside my mother, out of breath.
"Christopher decided to have some fun in the soapy water and I think I need a nap" I leaned over resting my elbows on my knees. This heavy cotton dress really wasn't helping either.
"Ok then, bring Christopher in the house and sit on the couch I'll be in, in a minute" I get on my feet and wobble a bit then once I'm steady and walk fastly to the water trough where Christopher sat. Picking him up I used my foot to kick open the door and shut it before it blew open.
I collapsed onto the couch just as my mom walked through the door.
"I'm going to tell you kids a story about a young little girl" Ma says pulling out a blue hue covered book. I run my hands over the material the blue cover feels like cotton. My mom opens the book and starts reading.....
