The Hive of Death

It was like any other day in Vandenberg, California hot and sunny but today was different because the people heard a loud noise and thought it was a rocket launch but realized that it wasn't scheduled till next week and when they found out what it was it's too late and the meteor crashes down on the base leaving nothing but destruction in its wake. This is where Delta Squad comes in because they are sent to find out what happened to the scientists and soldiers that were dispatched to survey the area but lost contact with command.

"Alright men we have lost contact with a team of eggheads and some soldiers that were there as a security detail and the only contact that was made to the team that was sent from there was at 0900 last week saying that the meteor has made the sky around it black as night and that they were getting some weird anomalies in the area after that nothing." said Capt. Jackson. "Sir how many people was in the team that we lost contact with." Pvt. Wilkins asked. "Close to 30 or more including some Engineers that were to set up a F.O.B. for the team to operate in so that is where we will go first and investigate the area, any more questions no? Good get your gear and anything we might need in case anything goes wrong and load up."

When Delta arrived at the base they realized a few things right away and that was its black as night when it's supposed to be daylight, the area was dead quiet with a bone chilling breeze, and the base was destroyed with blood and debris everywhere. "Um sir where is everyone and where's the bodies at?" Asked Cpl. Sansfruenard A.K.A. Sammy. "Don't know but stay frosty and check each building one at a time because I don't want to lose a man in this mess, especially to whatever did this." Said Capt. Jackson, after a couple of hours later they found nothing except for more blood, bullet casings, and body parts until Pvt. Deloris called the squad over to what was left of the main building and showed them a recording and some surveillance footage from the security cameras. "This is Dr. Polasky and if you are listening to this then leave now while you have the chance because we have found a hive of something extraterrestrial in the meteor and lost 6 people before we managed to escape back to the base but they have followed us here and everyone is dead and they are about to break the door open in anytime... (Static)" Then Deloris switched to the footage to show them what it was that attacked the base. The footage was in black and white with no sound and showed the base in a few different areas including the road that led to the meteor. The footage was a few day's old and when it was played it showed the squad, aliens climbing over the fence and through the gate like a wave on the beach towards the soldiers that was defending the base but they didn't stand a chance because there was too many of them and it was a slaughter with bullets flying everywhere, blood spilled all over the place and it was over in minutes. When it was over the aliens carried their dead and the dead humans back to the meteor for some reason.

"Deloris I need you to contact command and tell them that we have a problem and need more troops and equipment because one squad won't be able to do anything to these things" the Cpt. said to his Comms. man. "Yes sir but I need time to fix the equipment because they got busted up bad during the attack," "How much time do you need," "5 minutes max sir," "do it, alright men set up a perimeter around this building and get some barricades set up, I don't need any surprises and keep an eye on each other." Within a minute when everything was set up they heard a high pitch screech and several aliens descend upon the squad but they were ready for the attack and held them off without any casualties but this attack was different than the one on the footage. "it's like they are probing our defenses and seeing what our weak points are but when they attacked the other team it was a full on assault, so that means there is a scout watching us right now seeing what we are doing. Wait get that body over to the medic and see if he can dissect it to find a weakness but be careful we don't know what these things are and how they function." said Lt. McCormack. The body looked like a dog with no eyes, ears, its skin is grey as a rock, its legs are built for speed, and its skin is soft as leather. "It looks like it's a scout due to its skin color, the legs, and the toughness of its skin because in the video the others were bigger, darker, and took a lot more to kill it, so that means there are a whole lot more of these things and different breeds." said the Capt. after he took a quick glance at the body.
