*Rydel's Point Of View*

I looked down and realized I had 30 texts and 4 missed calls from my mom.

She's trying to call again.

"Yeah?" I answered.

"Where are you, Rydel? You've been missing for hours now!" My mom yelled through the phone.

"I stopped to tie my shoe, then I ran into someone and fell, and missed the flight. He also missed the flight, so we both had to wait for the next flight. We're headed to the hotel now." I said calmly.

"He?" She said.

"Yeah. His name is Beau. Apparently we're staying at the same hotel." I said and I could hear Ross and Riker in the background. Sounded like they were fighting.

"Are y'all in the same car?" She asked worriedly.

I snickered.

"Yeah, mom. Don't worry.. He seems like a good guy."

He immediately glanced over at me when I said that. I suddenly had a bad feeling in my stomach.

"Rydel, you trust people too much. Be careful." She said and hung up.

"She's right. You can't just trust anyone." He said, staring out the window, avoiding eye contact.

I realized how loud my mom talked on the phone. Even Beau could hear her.

"Well, I know. But you seem like a-"

He looked at me as soon as I said that.

"I'm not someone you want to get too involved with Rydel! See, you're this nice and innocent..good girl. And I'm that guy that a girl like you needs to avoid." He said and got out of the taxi after the taxi driver let us out.

"What?" I said and got out too.

"Trust me, I'd rather be able to see you a lot too, but we're different you see. People like you and I? We aren't supposed to cross lines. In other words, we avoid each other. Kay?" He said and walked into the hotel.

I gathered my stuff then followed close behind him.

"Beau.."

"I don't want you to get hurt Rydel! Get your room key and go to your room.. And just leave me. Okay?" He shouted and got his key from the lady at the desk, then practically disappeared.

I sighed and got my key, then walked into my hotel room.

"What's wrong, Rydel? You seem pretty upset." My mom asked.

I flashed a fake smile.

"I'm fine. Just tired." I lied.
