I was walking down my street with my dog Tucker, when I noticed a big moving truck pulling into what used to be my best friend's house. I glared at that truck as hard as I possibly could. How dare they move into her home! She hasn't even been gone a week! To make matters worse the person who is moving into that household that my best friend used to reside in is the family that got her father deported to a deferent company. I hated them and wished them all to die a slow and painful death.... Okay not really but I could dream.
A car pulled in behind the moving truck and not far behind it was a motorcycle, to be honest if the situation was different I would have melted at the sight of such a beautiful machine but since the person riding it was my worst enemy instead I glared at the back of his neck. The motorcycle pulled into the drive way and parked. His helmet covered his whole head but when he pulled it off I was still glaring as hard as I possibly could. It was when he turned around and looked right at me was when my glare faltered.
His dark blonde hair complimented his blue eyes that I could see even from where I was standing. His smirk was what brought me back to reality. He knew that he had shocked me and what made it worse is that he enjoyed it. My glare crept back on my face and now it was his turn to be shocked. He looked back and forth with a confused look then a lazy smile replaced his shock and he just shrugged and before he walked inside my best friend's house he winked.
As soon as the door closed I turned around and tugged Tuckers leash. He had the nerve to wink at me! The nerve of that no good pretty boy! A few doors down and I was outside my house and I stomped up the stairs and swung the door open and once I was inside I slammed it shut.
"Tena! No slamming doors!" My mom's boyfriend screamed from the living room.
"Oh shut up, Steve!" I yelled back and immediately regretted it because five seconds later Steve got up from his arm chair, into the kitchen and I felt his five fingers slam against my cheek.
"The hell you say to me, bitch?" Steve said looming over me and I held onto my cheek. Tucker seemed to notice the disturbance that Steve was making and started growling at him. "Shut up dumb fuck!" Steve screamed at Tucker and kicked him. I yelped and ran toward Tucker and covered his body with my own. "Control that dumb dog Tena or I swear I put a bullet in its head." Was the last thing he had said before walking back to his armchair.
I scooped Tucker into my arms and walked to the back of the house where my room was. I placed Tucker on my bed and stroked his head. He looked up at me and licked my face. I knew he didn't want me to worry but I always worried about my baby.
About two hours later I heard the front door open then close signaling that my mom just got home from work. I shut my eyes, laid down and clutched my pillow. The fighting would start in a few minutes.
"Beatrice! That dumb dog of Tena's tried to bite me! We need to get rid of it!"
"Tucker? He would never!" My mom said calmly trying not to start anything.
"I'm taking it to the pound tomorrow." Steve said in a voice meaning it was not something that was going to be argued about. When he finished thunder screamed outside my window and Tucker and I jumped and he ran into my arms and I clutched him tightly.
"I'd like to see you try!" She screamed back. I heard a crash and her yelp. The tears broke from my eyes and fell almost as hard as the rain was from outside.
"Don't fucking talk back to me whore!" Steve boomed and I couldn't take anymore. I pushed my window open and called for Tucker and he jumped into my arms. I needed Claire. I needed to get to her house. My mind was clouded and I couldn't focus. I ran as fast as I could. The rain plummeted onto my shoulders like small needles. When I saw Clair's house I ran up her porch and my hand slammed on her door beating repeatedly.
