When I got home from work Steve was right where he was yesterday when I came home. In his armchair watching CSN. Steve must have heard me come in because he looked up when the door closed. “There you are! Your mom was looking for, geez she wouldn’t shut up.” He said as he shook his head returned to watching CSN. I was surprised he usually didn’t pay attention to me. I didn’t respond to him, just rolled my eyes and went to the back of the house. Tucker was still at Clai- sorry Brenden’s house and I was too afraid to go get him because Steve was unpredictable so I wasn’t always sure if he had forgotten the incident or not. I looked at him nervously as I went to my room. The door closed a little too loud and I flinched waiting for Steve to call out but he never did and Iet out a sigh of relief. I then got out of my dirty cloths, my boss was completely okay but asked if I could avoid being late and out of uniform in the future.
I finished my chores then decided to go over to Clai- Brenden’s house and see if it’s okay for him to watch tucker for a few days. “Steve I’m going out.” I called out as I closed the front door not wanting or caring about his reply. I walked down the few houses it took for me to get to Brenden’s house. I knocked and waited for him to come to the door, unexpectedly a girl about my age swung open the door, she had tears in her eyes and she looked like she was about to go out on a really expensive date but instead got dumped.
“Who’s this bitch?” She looked at me with disgust and stormed down the front porch.
“Now now Terry no need to be a brat just because my brother dropped you like a ton of bricks.” A little girl about twelve with bouncy blonde hair. When she looked at me her eyes lit up. “Oh cool you came back! You’re not like the other girls my brother bring home you actually literally fell into his arms.” She cracked up at her joke and I just gave her a confused look she seemed much more mature for a twelve year old but I also had no clue as to who she was.
“Um is Brenden here?” I asked softly looking around making sure I was at the right house.
“Right here Sweetheart.” Right then the said brother of the house walked out in only his boxers. I couldn’t help but stare at his perfectly toned body his muscles flexed easily as he ruffled his unkempt hair. He smirked as he noticed my staring. “See something you like?” he asked arching an eyebrow. I immediately look up from his body and give him a look that was a mix between “as if” and “fuck off” but he just laughed it off.
The girl seemed to watch this exchange like a tennis match but with and extremely happy expression. “There’s that glare again.” He said under his breath and as he looked at the girl e said “Sophie calm down no need to get so excited.” And turned away.
Sophie grabbed my hand and pulled me inside the house nearly nocking me off of my feet. “But it’s not every day you meet a girl who isn’t begging for your attention.” She sad it with such happiness that I couldn’t help but give her a sweet smile.
“Um did you not see her last night she was all over me!” He said pointing at her I just looked at him with another glare.
“Um I wasn’t thinking right I had forgotten that my best friend moved out.” I said pointing at him and Sophie made and “HaHA” kind of noise and stuck her nose up in the air. I smiled at her reaction she was totally adorable and I loved how she hated that girls fell over each other for him.
