"Kacey ... Kacey !", I heard my name being called which meant it was time to get up and go to university. I stood with the immediate feeling of being "light-headed" and walked over to the reflecting, crystal clear mirror. My hand raised to my face, rubbing against the smudged makeup from yesterday's party.

"KACEY !" My mother called from the kitchen, "Yeah, yeah I'm up" I said with a croaky voice. My stomach ached and my mind was flowing with thoughts about my new university, everything seemed so .. Bleak. I walked into the kitchen and sat on a cold wooden seat, which greeted me to 2 Nutella bagels and a glass of berry smoothie. "Have you defiantly packed everything?", "Yes I have, don't worry I will be fine" I trailed off with a sigh. "Your bus will arrive in roughly 10 minutes or so" my mother said with a worried voice, i ignored her and left the table to go retrieve my suitcase.

I wish she would stop worrying so much, it all started right after my father died when I was 8, life became blank and nothing ever made sense. It was as if a huge part of me just broke and was never fixed. I was immediately distracted by the overwhelming honk of the bus, I clutched my suitcase and walked onto the bus.

The driver was bloated, sweaty and was covered in tattoos, "That will be 2 dollars please", "here" I said while handing over 3, "keep the change" i mumbled and took the back seat. My earphones where in the second I sat down, I couldn't help but mime the words as the song played, it drifted me off into another world. Coming back to reality I pulled my sleeve up to my elbow and my eyes focused on the scars, I just couldn't stop hurting myself, it felt like it was taking all the pain away, somewhere that it would never return.
