(JENNA)
"Oooppsss, sorry".
This is the fifth time Namjoon stepped on my foot and I always end up giggling. I don't know if this was because I'm drunk or I just find him cute trying his best to dance.
I almost lost my balance because of my high stiletto plus the alcohol in my body, but his hands were quick to assist me and I was instantly in his embrace, I obviously didn't notice that I had put my hands on his chest.
I looked up and was mesmerized by his eyes. The light behind his head made him so tall and domineering compared to my petite frame. It's embarrassing to admit that my height reached his shoulder.
"Hey, Namjoon. You owe me a dance the last time", a tall and slender girl interrupted us and the way she touched his arm made me think that they were very intimate with each other. I felt a sudden insecurity.
This is the type of girl he would like, not some plain boring girl like me.
"I think I need to rest", I said politely, gave him my sweetest smile and left him with the girl.
"But....",
I didn't give him a chance to protest and left to look for Mona. I found her at the bar counter ordering a drink.
"Hey, can we go home, now?", I yelled for her to hear me amidst the loud music.
"Why? Aren't you having fun?"
"Yes I am but I'm already drunk", giving her an excuse to leave the place. She looked at me with suspicion but did not say a word, instead she got her phone to send a message to their driver.
"Jenna, Tae is looking for you", Hobi popped in coming from the restroom and tried flirting again with Mona. "Babe, let's go dance again", giving her his vibrant smile while wiggling his body.
Why would Tae look for me?
"Sorry, Hobi. Maybe next time. We need to go home".
"Oh", was all he said and gave her a childish pout which made us laugh. I like him. He is such a jolly person.
From the corner of my eye I saw Namjoon inching his way from the crowd walking towards us but I want to avoid him.
"Mona, let's go. Bye Hobi". I said and almost pulled Mona out of the club without glancing back at Namjoon.
------
The ringing of my phone woke me up but what made me annoyed was my headache.
I will never drink again.
I sat up and answered the phone without looking at the caller.
"Hello? Jenna?", the familiar female voice said.
"Oh, hi mom"
"Did I wake you up?"
"No, you didn't", I lied.
"How's your first day at your new school?"
"It was okay. Everyone was nice", remembering the face of Namjoon.
"How about your place? Are you comfortable in it?". Part of the difficulty in begging them for me to return to Korea was thinking that I will be alone here. I promised them that I will find a place that is safe for me to stay.
"I love the flat, mom. Don't worry", I looked around at my dwelling place. I chose this small studio type room so that it's easier to clean and organize.
A few furniture can fit the small space. I chose a simple bed and placed it at the corner of the room, beside the window. A small dining table with two chairs. A sofa that can fit two persons and a television for my free time. I also added a study table.
"Oh ok. We were just worried and we missed you, darling. Don't forget to call us if you need anything".
"I won't. Thanks mom. Give dad a hug for me".
"I will. Bye".
I dropped the phone on the bed and made my way to the sink. Every step was like a burden with my aching head. I brushed my teeth and was making a cup of coffee when the doorbell rang.
I looked at the clock on the wall and it says 9:00 am and today is Sunday. Did Mona and I made plans for today? I hope I didn't forget. The doorbell rang for the second time. Mona is always impatient whenever it takes me a while opening the door.
"I'm coming. Mona, I swear I didn't know ...... Oh", I opened the door and was about to explain to her that I forgot we had a plan to go somewhere, but I was surprised to see a tall guy with a very bright smile which showed his beautiful dimples on his cheeks.
"Good morning, Jenna", Namjoon's voice made me realize that I was ogling him like a predator.
Oh, I'm going to kill you Mona.
