Since We Were Kids

Chapter 1

 (New story that I have started. Hope this is good. I will update as much as I can but it might be limited because I have other things to do. Let me know what you think.)

Chase's P.O.V.

I can't like him he's my best friend and has been since forever. That's what's been going through mind since I came to the conclusion that I have a crush on Ryan. You see we have been friends since we were kids, and now we are always with each other because we race against one another.

Which means we are hardly ever have time apart, I mean I'm not complaining I like hanging out with him but part of me wishes it didn't have to be 24/7 because my mind is going insane. Some days I like Ryan, some days I think I love him and then other days I hate him. I can never make up my mind. I just want to know what's going on with me. I don't even know if I'm gay, I mean I could be bisexual or it's just like a stupid thing that everyone has every once in a while.

I wish there was a way I could find out. I sighed and looked up as someone walked into the driver's meeting, we have to attend these before every race and I was early. "Hey Chase." Austin, another one of my friends said. I smiled and waved at him as he sat down next to me. "You okay man?" He asked. I shrugged and looked at him. "I don't know... I'm having some difficulties with some things." I said back. He gave me a look but before I could say more the reason I am having difficulties walked in. Ryan Blaney, my best friend. I shook my head at Austin  as Ryan walked up and sat on the other side of me.

"Hey Chase, hey Austin." He said. Austin smiled and waved. I looked over at Ryan and smiled. "Hey Ryan, what's up?" I asked. He shrugged and said not much. As more drivers started coming in, I watched as Ryan said hi and smiled at all of them. His smile is perfect.... it's always so bright and amazing. I sighed as I continued to think about what I like about him.

I like the way his eyes light up when he's happy or excited about something. I like how his hair falls perfectly without him even trying. I like how he gets worked up over the stupidest or smallest things and I like how hot he is when he's mad. I bit my lip and looked towards the front to try and pay attention to the person talking.

**after meeting**

Once the meeting was over we all stood up and started making our way to driver introductions. We get introduced where we start. I start 3rd, Ryan is 11th, and Austin is 24th. I don't remember who got the pole. Anyways, on our way to the driver intros we walk through an area with fans and we sign autographs and take pictures with them.

I waited for everyone ahead of me to go in. They start from the back of the field. When I started to walk through, fans started screaming my name. I smiled and walked through signing as much autographs and taking as many pictures as I could. I walked closer to the stage once I was done and listened to as they introduced all of the drivers. As they got to where I was I stepped onto the stage and walked out. I smiled and waved at all of the fans. I walked up to the microphone. "Hey everybody thanks for coming out today. I hope y'all have a good time." I said to them.

   They cheered and I walked off, high fiving people. I walked back around to the back and went to my friends. I bit my lip as I watched Ryan smile and laugh about something Austin said. I smiled and just stood there. "Chase!" I heard a voice say. I snapped out of my trance and looked at who called my name. It was Ryan. "Sorry, what did you say?" I asked him. He rolled his eyes and smiled. "I said, let's go. We are about to go racing." I nodded and wished them both luck, walking to my car.

   Man I really need to stop day dreaming about my best friend... it's going to end up back firing on me or something. I sighed and climbed into my car. getting situated in my seat. My crew chief Alan walked up to my window and leaned onto it. "You okay bud? You seem kinda off." He said. I smiled and looked at him, nodding. "Yeah I'm okay. Just got a lot on my mind." I said back.
