I layed there next to my precious angel who I had so delicately wrapped around my finger. The small boy breathed softly against my neck since we were pretty close, and shit, it was driving me insane.

I figured I would take my time with this one, though. Lucy seemed like an intelligent person, and if I wasn't careful, he'd figure it out. He'd figure out that I'm trying to keep him from the rest of this God awful world that will only corrupt him in the end.

I huffed and took a glance at the digital clock on the nightstand which read 8:00 A.M. How long can this kid sleep for?

Almost like the little angel knew that I was thinking about him, he let out the softest of whines and peeked up from the pillows his face was buried in. This action made me all the more curious on what other noises he could make.

I shake my head and grumble, reminding myself that I would come onto him slowly.

"Hey, feeling any better?"I ask, raising an eyebrow as Lucy stretches his thin arms over his head.

"Mhm." He glances up at me and smiles before closing his eyes once more as if he was going to fall back into his peaceful slumber.

I roll my eyes and sit up, glaring down at him since I wanted him to just get up so I could learn more and more about him.

"You should probably get up and get dressed or something.. Or I can run you a bath while I get you some breakfast or something, whatever you want." I hated how I sounded like I was sucking up to whatever he wanted, he was supposed to be doing that for me.

Lucy once again opens his eyes and nods as he slowly sits up, he messy hair sticking out in all directions. It was absolutely adorable. Although, I did want him to wash off the smell of alcohol. The strong scent didn't suit him, not one bit.

I stalked off to the bathroom where I began to run a bath, making sure that the water was the perfect temperature for him, not wanting it to be too cold or hot.

Walking into the closet which was attached to the bathroom, I choose out a black hoodie and a pair of grey sweatpants for him. I would buy him some new clothes sometime this week.

I fold the clothes neatly and set them down on the closed lid of the toilet, along with a fluffy towel.

"Lucy, your bath is ready." I call out as I walk out of the bathroom and back into the bedroom where I found Lucy sitting on the bed, although he was frowning and gazing sadly at the floor.

He looked up at me, his big, brown doe eyes glazed with tears. Shit. He must've figured it out.

His lip trembled as he uttered the words that echoed in my head for a long, long time. "You're not letting me go home, are you?"

"You're quick." I say with a smirk as I place a kiss on his forehead. "Nope, my dear. You are staying with me." I gesture towards myself before placing a hand on his shoulder. "It's to protect you from this shit hole of a world. An angel like you can't be out there." I growl, even though my reasons were completely due to my own selfishness.

Lucy nods, looking up at me. That look in his eyes gave me so much of a rush. Seeing how he looked completely helpless drove me insane. Although, I was surprise at how calm he was over this. I wonder why.

Lucy went into the bathroom so he could take his bath, and I went downstairs to cook the perfect breakfast for my little angel.

As I stirred up some pancake batter, I grinned as began to wonder what this new future with Lucy would bring.

He was an angel, and I was nothing but a selfish devil.
