Some realism for my boy Emmett because he's more than dumb decisions and dudebro humor.

Emmett was the human embodiment of sunshine and happiness. Anyone who met him can attest to that; he always made you laugh even if you didn't want to. At school, he was friends with everyone -from the athletes, to the members of the chess club, to the goths and emos. No one hated Emmett Cullen. It was almost physically impossible to hate Emmett Cullen.

In gym, he joined up with the kids who tended to be cast to the side. Whether they were playing basketball, dodgeball, or running the mile, he grouped up with anyone who wanted to and went all out. He made gym class fun for everyone.

During lunch, he was like a little kid was let loose in a candy store. He couldn't digest food but that didn't stop him from eating it. Especially when his friends dared him to eat some disgusting concoction they made up. One time Morgan took a piece of pizza, dunked it in his juice, and smeared some mashed potatoes on it and made Emmett eat it. Emmett didn't hesitate. He couldn't pass up a dare. It was disgusting nonetheless but he ate it just to spite his friend.

In chemistry, Emmett was everyone's tutor. Everyone wanted to group up with him for assignments because he was insanely smart and no one understood anything the teacher had said. One girl, Bronwyn, was seriously struggling and was afraid of failing the class. She asked Emmett for help and he'd been tutoring her outside of school for two months now.

Emmett was nice.

For Chris, Emmett was a saving grace.

Chris was one of the quiet "emo" kids of the school. He kept to himself, sat in the back of the class, and hardly talked to anyone. Emmett tried to make friends with him and was very persistent until Chris gave in and accepted his friendship. It didn't take Emmett too long to notice the cuts and bruises along Chris's skin. And that's when Chris confessed about the abuse he endured at home. Emmett got Chris help. Chris now lives with his grandparents. He tells Emmett all the time that if it weren't for him, Chris would probably be dead right now.

Emmett wanted to make the world a better place. He'd seen enough sadness, enough destruction, enough abuse. He experienced it himself. His family had experienced it too. And it hurt him to know that there were still people out there in need of help.

Every other weekend for several years he volunteered at shelters all over the country. He's helped at animal shelters, homeless shelters, and rehab facilities. No job was ever below him; if all he could offer was cleaning the toilets, he'd do it. He did the best he could with his immortality.

Emmett was also a family man. When he was human, he was the last of four children. He had a pretty decent sized family and grew up with the values that family was your best friend. His new family filled that role perfectly. He was close with everyone. He loved Rose with every fiber of his being, Carlisle and Esme were perfect parents if "perfect parents" ever existed, and he considered everyone else to be his big siblings. He was still the baby, it seemed.

He and Jasper have a youtube channel together. The videos range from gaming to pranks to family vlogs. Emmett likes to video everything even if he thinks no one else will want to watch it. He likes saving the memories. All he had from his human life was a couple photographs. Now, with the advances in technology, he will be able to look back fifty years from now and remember.

Emmett was the embodiment of sunshine and happiness and he spread positivity everywhere he went. He had a big heart that he always wore on his sleeve and cared deeply for those close to him. Being a vampire was not something he could've ever imagined but he wouldn't trade what he has now for going back to his human life.
