(Her dress ^)

(2:45pm)
Yesterday had been very uneventful, and I plan to make today just the same. It's Saturday and I just wanted a relaxing day, away from people and schoolwork.

The sun was shining a bit to bright today, but hopefully that was a good sign. I got off of my bed and headed to the bathroom. I took a quick fifteen minute shower and dried myself off. I put on some comfortable shorts and a big t-shirt.

I went downstairs to find my parents rushing around all over the place.

"What's going on?" I was very confused usually they were more collected than this.

"WHY AREN'T YOU DRESSED!?" My mom shouted looking annoyed.

Why would I have to be dressed there was nothing important going on today.

"What do you mean.. dressed?" I asked

"Sweetie, we talked about this at dinner last night." She pauses and walked over to me rushing me to my room. "We are going to a business dinner with the Sanders."

"What does that have to do with me again?" I ask carefully making sure not to expose the fact that i hadn't heard a word they said over dinner last night.

"Vivian! Did you not hear a word we said yesterday!" Well there goes that plan.

"You are going because the Sanders' son, Liam, will be there, you and him are going to get along very nicely and help your daddy secure the deal." She said with a forced smile on her face the entire time.

I never really liked going out to business dinners, but I didn't mind them. They were sometimes interesting. Especially when I had someone else to talk to.

Mom left the room and I started to get dressed. I put on a light pink sundress, and some short heels, I put my hair into a fishtail braid and grabbed a light jacket. It was mid November so the weather was getting a little chilly out.

"I'm ready!" I steadily ran down the stairs, and to the front of the house to meet up with my parents.

"You look beautiful." My father said

"Thank you, dad you look great! I'm sure you'll get this deal." I smiled

It was currently 4:20pm and we had to be there by five. The drive wasn't too long but it did take a while.

We arrived at 'la fork' it was a French restaurant my dad took most of his clients unless they were really special. The restaurant had great food, it was a bit pricey but that was no problem for us. We practically ate here every other day.

We got here ten minutes early, which was great so we could get situated. My dad chose a table in the middle with a giant chandelier over it. As we waited for the Sanders, they gave me some background information about them and their son.

A couple minutes later they arrived. Mr. Sanders and Mrs. Sanders were both in their early forties. Mr. Sanders was a fairly tall man, he didn't have any facial hair making him look a little younger than he actually was. Mrs. Sanders was very beautiful. She had blonde hair that was up to her shoulders and blue eyes that lit up the room. As for their son Liam, he was as tall as his father. He had his mother's blonde and her blue eyes. He was dressed in a fancy shirt and slacks. Appropriate for this occasion.

Mr and Mrs. Sanders were smiling when they reached the table while their son was sulking behind them. That made me laugh.

All of a sudden all eyes were on me. I covered up that laugh with a cough and cleared my throat. The adults brushed it off and greeted one another but liam was staring at me with a devilish smile on his face.

I gave him my hand to shake "hi! I'm Vivian." He shook my hand in return "I know. I'm liam."

How'd he know my name?

I guess my confused face gave away my thoughts. "My parents told me your name, I'm guessing yours told you mine?"

I laughed and sheepishly nodded. I liked liam he was more down to earth than most of the kids I've met when I'm with my parents.

We later introduced ourselves to each other's parents and continued talking from there.

Turns out liam goes to Gedwim high in the town over, and we're both juniors. He hates these dinners because and I quote "I don't wanna kiss my dad's colleagues ass" which made me burst out in laughter and get a side glance from my mother.

We exchanged numbers before the end of the day and gave each other a friendly hug before leaving.

I think I just made a new bearable friend!
